#WorldAmyloidosisDay 🌍 – There is no proven way to prevent ATTR-CM amyloidosis, in which a protein accumulates in the heart muscle, especially since it is often related to genetic factors and age. ➡ However, to reduce the risk or support heart health, it is advisable to maintain a healthy lifestyle 🏃♀️ and manage any conditions such as diabetes, high blood pressure, and high cholesterol. For individuals with a family history of transthyretin amyloidosis, timely genetic counseling may be beneficial. #SimplyBecauseICare #TeamBayer

Let’s break down the main cause of Type 2 diabetes: insulin resistance! When your cells (like in your muscles, fat, and liver) stop reacting to insulin the way they should, your pancreas works overtime, pushing out more insulin to keep blood sugar steady. If this keeps happening and your pancreas can’t keep up, Type 2 diabetes kicks in. Why does insulin resistance happen? Mix of things: genetics, belly fat, lack of exercise, processed foods, some meds, stress, and poor sleep. All these can create a perfect storm. Is Type 2 Diabetes genetic? Stay tuned! 👉 #Type2Diabetes #InsulinResistance #DiabetesEducation #WellnessWithTari https://lnkd.in/g7vvfdUn

When it comes to heart disease, there are a lot of misconceptions that can lead to misunderstanding and even poor health decisions. One of the biggest myths surrounding heart disease is the relationship between body weight and cholesterol levels. A common belief is that if you're skinny, you automatically have low cholesterol, and if you're obese, you definitely have high cholesterol and high sugar levels. This couldn't be further from the truth. The reality is, many people who are skinny, fit and work out can still have very high cholesterol levels. Similarly, there are obese individuals who have normal cholesterol or normal sugar levels. This discrepancy is because of genetics. Our genetic makeup plays a significant role in determining our cholesterol levels and our susceptibility to high blood sugar and diabetes. #genetics #cardiologist #healthtips

When talking about aging and precision medicine, it is important to look at factors that impact at the cellular level. Food Hormones Environment These are all factors that impact the cells and can either accelerate aging with things like pre-diabetes and full-on type 2 diabetes or not. Looking at the chemical toxin burden is essential to anti-aging. That is why I am adamant about an environmental chemical urine test, which is standard in the Precision Age Reversal program. If we are trying to prevent the 9 pillars of aging: heart disease, strokes, cancer, arthritis, bone loss, dementia, hormone loss, diabetes, and obesity; we need to look at the chemicals and endocrine disruptors we are exposed to on a daily basis and make changes where we can to improve that toxin burden. #DrMarkHolthouseMD #FMIOptimal #OptimalHealth #PAR1 #PrecisionAgeReversal #EnvionmentalToxinLoad #ChemicalToxinLoad #CellularImpact

Some rare forms of obesity are caused by genetic variants in a key neuro-signaling pathway in the hypothalamus responsible for regulating hunger, food intake, satiety, and energy expenditure. This pathway is called the melanocortin-4 receptor pathway (MC4R pathway). This can influence body weight. The impairment of this signaling can lead to early-onset, severe obesity, and hyperphagia, irrespective of environmental and lifestyle factors. #GeneticCondition #GeneticDisorder #InheritedDisease

Iodine is often discussed in the context of thyroid health and hormone regulation, but its role in estrogen regulation is less well-known. Some studies suggest that iodine can have an impact on hormone balance, including estrogen. ⭕ To produce thyroid hormones, iodine is necessary. Thyroid hormones can have an impact on estrogen metabolism and vice versa. An imbalance in thyroid hormone levels can cause issues. ⭕ Iodine's antioxidant properties may help to protect tissues from oxidative stress, which can lead to changes in hormone balance, among other things. ⭕ Breast Health: Iodine is thought to be beneficial for breast tissue health. There is some evidence that iodine can alter oestrogen metabolism and potentially lessen oestrogen dominance, which is associated with illnesses such as fibrocystic breast disease. #Iodine #hormonalimbalance #hormonesupport #hormonehealth #hormoneawareness #infertity #infertilityjourney #drnanditapalshetkar
