Mentor Collective is thrilled to collaborate with the Association of Public and Land-grant Universities (APLU), which has been selected as a recent grantee by ECMC Foundation. Over the next three years, we will work closely with six APLU member institutions to develop technology-enabled peer mentorship programs to enhance student success. Here at the Knight Cancer Institute, we hold our mentors in high esteem! Mentoring is a vital part of the scientific community. Have you served as a mentor? Be sure to include it on your resume or CV. Where did you mentor? When? What level was your mentee—undergraduate intern, grad student, postdoc? Provide a little context to make the experience clear to your reader. Mentoring often encompasses sought-after skills, such as communication, leadership, problem-solving, facilitation, organization, and sometimes even curriculum development. It’s worth noting this experience on your professional branding documents!
