🚀 Social Media Sentiment Analysis: Unlocking Emotions Across Platforms 🌐✨ 💡 Project Overview: In this project, I analyzed social media sentiment data to uncover emotions, trends, and user behavior patterns across platforms like Twitter, Instagram, and Facebook. The dataset included text, hashtags, engagement metrics (likes, retweets), timestamps, and geographic data, offering a rich canvas to explore. 🛠️ Key Steps and Techniques 🔍 Text Preprocessing: Implemented rigorous preprocessing (lowercasing, removing URLs, tokenization, lemmatization) to prepare the data for analysis. 📊 Sentiment Analysis: Lexicon-Based Approaches: Used VADER and TextBlob for polarity and subjectivity scoring. Machine Learning Models: Built logistic regression, random forest, and XGBoost models, achieving up to 99% accuracy using resampling techniques. 📅 Temporal Analysis: Explored sentiment trends over time, revealing interesting spikes (e.g., 2011 sentiment surge) and recovery patterns post-2020. 📈 User Behavior Insights: Identified that positive sentiments receive higher engagement on Instagram, while Twitter users exhibit diverse emotional expressions. 🌍 Geographical Analysis: Found that Brazil, Germany, and India displayed optimistic sentiment trends, whereas the USA and UK showcased balanced emotional distributions. 🌟 Highlights 📌 Achieved 99.23% accuracy in sentiment prediction through hyperparameter tuning with GridSearchCV. 📌 Discovered platform-specific emotional trends, helping brands understand their audience better. 📌 Uncovered top-performing hashtags and geographic sentiment patterns, valuable for targeted campaigns. 🎯 Takeaways This project taught me: 1️⃣ The importance of resampling techniques to handle imbalanced datasets. 2️⃣ How to align sentiment insights with user engagement trends for actionable outcomes. 3️⃣ Advanced feature engineering and model tuning for robust machine learning pipelines. ✨ Check Out My GitHub for Detailed Code and Visualizations: https://lnkd.in/d2B_taQR 👩💻 Would love to hear your thoughts!
