Follow #COP29 online. Wed 13th: webinar from Glasgow Financial Alliance for Net Zero (GFANZ) Did you know that the GFANZ is a coalition of financial institutions committed to a net-zero future? Launched at #COP26, #GFANZ has rapidly grown to include over 500 firms managing $150 TRILLION in assets. At #COP16, GFANZ took it a step further by teaming up with the Taskforce on Nature-related Financial Disclosures (TNFD) to launch consultations on nature and transition plans. Why is this a big deal? GFANZ is recognising the crucial role of nature in achieving net-zero. The consultations will enhance transparency and accountability in the financial sector. By integrating nature into their strategies, GFANZ members can unlock significant funding for nature recovery. GFANZ's actions align with global goals of #KunmingMontrealGlobalBiodiversityFramework and of #ParisAgreement We need a turnaround from the finance sector - at unprecedented rates and scale: from funding activities that harm nature to funding activities that support nature recovery.
