Genesis 1:3. 🥰I love this story about this old man who was walking down the beach and that is what he normally did every single morning ,but this one specific morning as he walked he noticed a young boy taking starfish from off the beach and throwing it back into the ocean. He looked at the vast expanse on the beach and the many starfish that was there and he went over to the little boy and asked him what are you doing? The little boy responding that he's helping to save the starfish and the old man responded " but that is just foolishness how can you make a difference?" The boy took up another starfish threw it into the sea and responded "I can make a difference to that one starfish."💚 I know that we are faced with darkness, we are faced with challenges each and every single day but how can you make a difference in your own life and the life of others? 🪞 Reflect on this question by thinking about a time when you felt overwhelmed by the darkness or challenges around you. 👉🏻How did you respond and have you found the light or purpose or lessons from the situation? We have a kitten called Melon. 🐱 In my worldview, cats are pets. You have a cat flap, and they come and go as they please. You provide food and water. Sometimes, they bring you a dead bird or mouse and get hairs on your clothes. 🐦🐭 My wife Liza doesn’t want him to go out. I believe that’s wrong. Then…I read an article that showed that house cats live longer than those who wander and have a better quality of life. 📚🐾 While I haven’t completely changed my worldview, it’s a reminder that I don’t know what I don’t know. This habit of taking our worldview as sacrosanct is limiting. It’s unconscious. Below the line. Parts-led. But you don’t know what you don’t know, so how could you tell? How about the next time someone tells you something that doesn’t fit into your worldview, instead of pushing back, you move into curiosity and ask questions? 🤔 This is the practice of living a SELF-led life.
