Reflecting on a day of Valuable Insights! As the CEO of Falcon Contract Flooring Sales Ltd, I often find myself immersed in strategic planning and business operational development. However, today, I decided to take a step back from the spreadsheets and meetings to reconnect with the heart of our company—our installers. I’ve always known the calibre of work our teams deliver, but there’s something incredibly grounding about seeing it up close. Sharing moments with our installers, understanding the intricacies of their challenges, and celebrating their triumphs has been enlightening. I must admit that the growth of Falcon, inadvertently distanced me from these invaluable interactions and I have missed them! But I’ve come to realise that these face-to-face engagements are not just beneficial for our camaraderie; they’re crucial for our collective success. The individuals I met today are more than just installers; they are the artisans of our industry and the architects of our future. Their commitment and expertise are the driving forces behind Falcon’s ascent. I am committed to ensuring that these site visits become a regular part of my routine. It’s not just about oversight; it’s about showing respect, offering support, and building relationships that elevate us all. To the remarkable people who make Falcon Contract Flooring what it is, thank you. Your hard work doesn’t just make us tick—it makes us soar… 🦅🦅 #Leadership #Gratitude #Teamwork #FalconFamily #FCF #Carpet #Carpetinstallers #Carpetfitting

Long-term relationships are all we know. From our clients to our teammates. We have decades-long relationships with our clients. And we have employees who have been with us since the 90s. Most of our employees have been with us for 15-20 years. How did we do this? Prioritizing long-term relationships. And that's the name of the game at Robinson Brothers. Long-term relationships > Short-term transactional relationships. And that's not changing anytime soon. #robinsonbrothers #construction

Reid Ribble shared invaluable wisdom during our #PeopleMakeRoofing call, drawing from his own experience as a roofing business owner. He emphasized the importance of learning to delegate and trust others, stating that he aimed to be "the dumbest person in the room" by hiring people smarter and more capable than himself. Many business owners fall into the trap of trying to do everything on their own, but Reid's approach was refreshingly different. By hiring people who were better at specific tasks, he could step back and let them excel, which allowed his business to scale and thrive. It's a powerful reminder for roofing owners: to truly grow and scale your business, you must be willing to bring in people who can work more effectively and efficiently than you can alone. Don't fear hiring someone better—embrace it, get out of their way, and watch your business fly! So much value in such a short amount of time.
Don’t delegate too much… I interviewed a construction mogul in New York City on how he grew his company from $10 million to $100 million and how he feels about delegation. I also asked him his thoughts on diversification and his secret to sales throughout his career.

Supplier: "Its tough to find a roofing company to recommend because of how many times I haven't been paid." Builder: "I've had a roofing company get 3/4 through a build only to tell me they 'mis measured' and needed $8,000 more to complete the job. I just want to work with people who will do what they say they will do and stand by it." Homeowner calls office: "I've been burned by a roofing company in the past so I just want to make sure this is real and you are a legitimate company before I sign the contract." These are just a few stories of mistrust in roofing I've come across the last month. It doesn't surprise me much, as I faced the same sort of stories when I was in auto sales and logistics. It just highlights the opportunity too few people look to take advantage of; to step into the leadership gap and earn trust with the people they live and work beside and truly serve others. I haven't worked in the same industry my entire career, but I have always been committed to doing the right thing and going above and beyond. Experience and expertise matters, but character matters more. #roofing #trust #leadership

The numbers don’t lie — with turnover rates in roofing exceeding 50% annually, our industry faces a real challenge in building and maintaining strong, cohesive teams. As someone who has dedicated my career to connecting people with opportunity in the roofing sector, these stats hit hard. The #PeopleMakeRoofing campaign was launched with a purpose: to address these very issues head-on. We believe that by shining a spotlight on the incredible opportunities, the purpose, and the community within our industry, we can help reduce turnover and inspire a new generation to stay and grow within roofing. Through storytelling, mentorship, and initiatives led by passionate industry leaders, we’re working to foster an environment where people feel valued and have clear paths to growth. It’s about building a sense of pride, creating careers with purpose, and letting people see that roofing is more than just a job — it’s a community, a legacy, and a future. To everyone committed to making a difference in our industry, thank you. Together, we can turn these numbers around. #CommercialRoofing #RoofingTalent #RoofingContractor National Roofing Contractors Association Roofing Alliance Western States RCA RoofersCoffeeShop® Chicago Roofing Contractors Association (CRCA) Canadian Roofing Contractors Association

Passion drives success in the roofing industry, a topic close to my heart. Recently, I sat down with Steve Little, head coach at KPost Company, for an enlightening discussion on this very subject. I posed a simple question to Steve: "What's your message for those shaping the roofing profession?" Steve's response was nothing short of inspiring. Steve emphasized the need for champions in our industry—those who passionately advocate for roofing, attracting fresh talent. "We must make roofing magnetic, irresistible," he stressed. "A place people long to be part of." Steve's words struck a chord. His call to action—to become champions for roofing—resonates deeply. "We need champions in every sector, willing to do more than just business". #PeopleMakeRoofing McCormack Partners Roofing Recruitment Specialists National Roofing Contractors Association Roofing Alliance RoofersCoffeeShop®
