Autumn is nearly here! Make the most of the remaining summertime and spend some time in nature – and if you’re up for it, why not add some activity! Spending time outdoors has a positive impact on our mental health and can help us feel calmer and less stressed. This can be as simple as going for a walk in the park or the woods. Any amount of time doing this is good for us, but to really get the benefit, try to spend an hour or longer – when you can really connect with nature and immerse yourself. Exercise is also a great way of dealing with anxiety, so add some activity to your time outdoors and get the additional benefit. Activity doesn’t have to be vigorous; try some gentle stretches, yoga, or a gentle walk. If you are able to step this up and run, swim, or take part in a fitness class that’s great. Any amount of exercise will help. #wellbeingwednesday #projecthealthyhabits
