We have drive and ambition within our respective departments but no one can say we don't know how to collaborate amongst different teams at EDC when it comes to staff sports day prep. Here I am helping my amazing friend Lauren Carr get the Inclusive Learning Team's outfits, sports day ready after she assisted me with the Alternative Education prep 😃😍 #TeamWork #AlternativeEducation #InclusiveLearning #EDCTeamCollaboration #StaffSportsDay #CPDWeek

🏀 Insights from the Youth Sports Community 🌟 Q3: How do you combat travel teams using the Rec program as practice, for example in basketball? Courtney shares her thoughts: "Our issue right now is with travel teams wanting to use our rec league as a practice platform, and that's not fun for the kids who are just starting out. It detracts from their experience and turns a lot of kids off. Because if you go and you get stomped every weekend, then you don’t want to come back. So, that's one of our current struggles." Boosting Academic Success Through Team Sports 🏀⚽ Did you know that kids who participate in team sports tend to achieve higher grades in school? Research shows that these students demonstrate higher levels of attention and working memory, fewer missed school days and increased likelihood of graduating High School. 📚💡 Given the decline in sport participation during adolescence, these findings highlight the need to develop or modify policies to establish an environment that fosters and promotes sport participation, which in turn could improve academic outcomes. 🌟 #YouthSports #AcademicSuccess #Education #TeamSports

Exciting Changes to Our Training Sessions Over the past few months, our Junior training sessions have welcomed a growing number of new children. We've now reached a point where nearly 30 kids are attending each session. To better accommodate everyone, we're making some important changes at Ardwick Sports Centre: - Splitting Monday Night Lion Cubs Training: - Ages 9 and Under: 6:30pm - 7:30pm - Ages 10 and Over: 7:30pm - 9:00pm - Merging Wild Lions and Lions Black: - New session time: Sundays at Atherton Roller Rink, 7pm - 8:30pm (Start date to be confirmed soon). Until we have this date confirmed we will hold the joint season at Ardwick Sports Centre on a Monday night 9:00pm until 10:30pm. - Saturday Training Changes: - Introductory session for new players and skills session for existing Lion Cubs. - Maximum of 25 players on a first-come, first-served basis. By making these changes, we can offer more focused and effective coaching, reduce waiting times, and provide more one-on-one training opportunities. This will help all players improve their skills and ensure our Wild Lions and Lions Black players can progress together. We understand these changes might not suit everyone's schedule, but they are essential for the growth and development of our Junior teams, especially during this record-breaking season with 8 teams competing in 7 different leagues. Payment Information: - November payment plans remain the same. - Refunds are available for those who can't make the new schedule. - Junior training costs will stay the same, but we may increase Wild Lions and Lions Black fees by £5 per month from December (review pending). For any questions, please message our coaches in Spond or catch them at the next training session. Your support and understanding are greatly appreciated as we make these improvements. #LionsInlineHockeyClub #JuniorTraining #ExcitingChanges 🏒

A New Year Resolution: Let's agree to stop misusing the term "soccer academy" when it doesn't accurately reflect the program. High-quality soccer programs can be implemented during school hours at a fraction of the cost of traditional residency programs. This frees up evenings for families and allows for the effective utilization of existing free online resources to supplement any missed classroom time. Many soccer fields and athletic facilities sit idle until late afternoon, while access to expert trainers, physios, nutritionists, and sports psychologists is readily available. #ussoccer #socceracademy

Did you know? Certain sports are associated with a higher incidence of SCA, particularly those involving high intensity, such as basketball, soccer, and football. In these sports, the incidence can be as high as 1 in 3,000 to 1 in 10,000 per year, according to the National Institutes of Health. Who can benefit from learning CPR? ✔️ Athletic Trainers ✔️ Coaches and Team Staff ✔️ Athletes Themselves ✔️ Parents and Spectators Learning CPR is a vital skill for anyone involved in high-intensity sports, helping to ensure that life-saving care is available when it's needed most. #CPRSavesLives #AthleteSafety #SCA #EmergencyPreparedness #Diversity #WorldPoint #CPRInstructor #BLS #CPR #Diversity #DiversityMatters #CPRTraining #Nurse #Representation #RepresentationMatters #CPRTaylor #BabyTyler

I consumed this article from The Athletic faster than I eat a most of my meals (Note: I might be the fastest eater you've ever seen). The landscape of British academy football is rapidly changing and it will be interesting to see who is the first to blink, the clubs or the FA to bring in regulations. With Brexit making it nearly impossible to sign players from abroad under the age of 18 and PSR rules incentivising the sale of home grown players for pure profit, the academy transfer space has exploded. The need to develop, and retain, players who are both first team ready for you, but also good enough for sale, has meant that talent hoarding and poaching is rife. Obviously, we at Playermaker focus on the development aspect of this particular issue. As highlighted within, clubs are now holding onto players for longer, giving potential late bloomers as much chance as possible. To get a good feel on when particular players might develop at particular times, it would make sense to track their long term physical and technical outputs right? Thankfully, there is a wearable that can provide just that level of insight AND comes in a variety of sizes to be able to kit out your academy across a variety of ages. How lucky is that?? It is a very interesting time in the academy space, and we are delighted that so many clubs have already chosen us provide additional value to their talent ID process. Always looking to chat about how we might add your club in next. https://lnkd.in/ejHmq6Kt #Football #Academy #Soccer
