Mondays are for Men's Gender Equality ☯️ Every week we explore what gender equality looks like for men and celebrate those men paving the way. This week a huge shout out goes to Jeremy Stockdale for taking the courageous step to dip his toes in American politics (he's a Brit). Politics feels like a scary place these days, not for polite conversation. But it also mirrors what is happening in society and in our workplaces, so we can't ignore it. I don't know if you feel it, but there's something very special happening in the Harris-Waltz partnership. I'd call it inclusive leadership. They both have a role to play on the Democratic ticket and they are both happy to play it. There's none of that (gasp!) a straight, white, Christian man in a "support" role to a woman?! And a bi-racial woman?! This is what the future looks like which is why it is so freakin' exciting to see it in the present. It's not because of the diversity that Harris and Waltz are a great team. It's how they are harnessing the power of it (inclusion) which is why we can all feel something special happen. Try teaming up on something with the most different person you know today. See what happens. Thanks again Jeremy for always leading inclusion. 🙏 #inclusion #dei #genderequality #men #leadership https://lnkd.in/euYVUu68

👉New seminar of the series Feminist Studies, 17.10.24 🏫 👨👩👦 👪 🧑🧒🧒 School and family are key places for the transmission of gender roles and stereotypes. ⚧️ From our research we see that gender norms can impact both parents and children, as they relate to different - more or less developmentally attuned - parental practices. 💡 In addition, we know that children tend to internalize gender norms from early childhood, while adolescence can be an important period for crystalizing, deconstructing or challenging gender stereotypes. 🤔 How can we therefore rethink family and school to break down gender stereotypes and encourage more gender equality? We will explore this question in the next Seminar of the University of Women (Université des Femmes). 📅 Thursday, October 17, 2024 🕒 From 2 p.m. to 5 p.m. 📍 Amazone, Rue du Méridien 10, 1210 Brussels See link to the event: https://lnkd.in/et4aq_B4 Looking forward to seeing you there. Thanks to Alice Nucci for the invite! PS: la présentation sera en français

⭐ Breaking Barriers: Empowering Female Leadership in the Workplace - Insights from Woman in Tech's Spring/Summer 2024 Edition ⭐ I'm delighted to share that I've had the privilege of contributing to an article featured in the esteemed Spring/Summer 2024 Edition of Woman in Tech! 🚀 In this insightful piece, we explored the pressing topic of female leadership in modern organizations and the indispensable role male leaders play in championing gender equality in the workplace. In the article, I had the opportunity to share my perspectives on the significance of fostering an environment that embraces diversity and inclusion. We discussed strategies for empowering women to ascend to leadership positions, including the importance of mentorship, sponsorship, and allyship. One of the key points highlighted was the power of women coming together to create strong alliances within the workplace. By supporting and promoting each other, we not only break down barriers but also pave the way for a more equitable and inclusive future for all. I'm incredibly grateful for the chance to contribute to such an important discussion, and I extend my heartfelt thanks to Carrier Community for providing a platform to amplify the voices of women in the tech industry. You can read the full article in the digital edition available at https://lnkd.in/daCK-MFV and join the conversation on advancing female leadership! #WomenInTech #FemaleLeadership #Inclusion #Empowerment #Allyship
