Today is #GivingTuesday - a day when you will be asked countless times to support a charity. From my vantage - the charitable sector is at major risk and in this next decade will be called upon to create substantial change and support in the community. Many charities are squeezed and tackling record level capacity issues / incredible demand with fewer dollars. If you have a charity or a cause close to you, donate before year end. If you don't, then start thinking about the changes you want to see in the community and who best represents that work. For those with means, there is huge opportunity for #giftplanning to play a role in wise financial management - from easing #capitalgains, to leaving living legacies, to estate planning, to gaining market value on donations with appreciated securities, and more - all while investing in the future of a local community. That goes beyond a singular day of giving.. #nonprofit

While on a volunteer trip to West Baltimore with Chris, Jake starts up a conversation with a friendly and candid local named Don. 🗣 The two talked at length about the current status of the West Baltimore neighborhood and the volunteer efforts that were taking place that week. When asked how he felt about seeing all of the new faces that had descended on the neighborhood, he had this to say: #WestBaltimore #CommunityResilience #RestorativeJustice #SystemicInequity #VolunteerImpact #BelongingMatters #SocialChange #HousingEquity #BridgingDivides #NeighborhoodRevitalization #TransformativeExperiences #RelinquishedRedlining #EmpathyInAction #CollectiveHealing #AgencyAndOwnership #ProximitySparksChange #BreakingBarriers #RestoringDignity #ImaginingEquity #CompassionateAction

There's a lot to learn about culture, but rather than seeing culture as something 'other' something academic, or something extrinsic, why not consider learning how to shift your internal worldview? The biggest change happens when we start to understand there are other mental models, and maybe the world's oldest living culture might have a few lessons to impart that would make all of humanity better? The Land Back Foundation knows exactly where on the lever to push, where we want to intervene in the system, and it is both at the Structural and Systemic levels. Please help us continue this work by giving as much as you can, by volunteering, by sharing our posts. If you are a small business you might like to pick up a Land is Love kit and show your allyship now more than ever. #nowmorethanever #notcupcakes #equity #stolenwealth #culture #donate #giftsinwills #housing #philanthropy #landback #aboriginal #torresstraitislander #Countryneedspeople #alwayswasalwayswillbe #knowyourcountry #shiftworldview #systemschangestartshere

"Giving Back to the Community" "Service to others is the rent you pay for your room here on Earth." - Muhammad Ali In a time when 1 in 4 people do not feel they have someone to count on, giving back to the community is not just an act of service; it is a commitment to weaving the fabric of support and kindness that holds us all together. The Inspiration: Witnessing the transformative power of community service has inspired me to dedicate a portion of my time to initiatives that uplift those around us. 1. The Action: From organizing local food drives to mentoring the next generation of leaders, every act of service creates a wave of positive change that extends far beyond the immediate impact. 2. The Vision: By investing in our communities, we are not just solving immediate problems but also planting the seeds for a future where generosity and compassion are the norm. 3. The Invitation: I would like to invite you to join me in this journey of giving back. Whether volunteering at a shelter, supporting a local business, or simply lending an ear to a friend, your actions matter. Let us create a world where community service is not just an idea, but a lived experience for everyone. Share your stories of giving back and let us inspire a movement of change and hope.
