Leadership isn’t just about guiding teams; it’s about building communities that thrive together. At Distilled Leadership, we teach leaders the art of savoring—learning to pause, connect, and truly engage with those around them. 🍂 In every culture, traditions of gathering to mark significant life milestones and celebrate achievements get passed down. Within this gathering is a culturally significant beverage - wine, champagne, beer - poured into glass and raised in unison to a cheer. It's a unifying moment for all to savor. We embrace this spirit of community and celebration by teaching leaders to find moments of meaning, purpose, and connection within their work and with their teams. At the end of the day, leaders and teams that want to can gather with us to learn the fine art of sipping bourbon and celebrate the hard work done that day…linking the craft of leading with the craftsmanship of distilling a fine sipping spirit. Sip, Learn, Lead isn’t just our motto; it’s a way to create communities that celebrate success - moment by amazing, rewarding moment. #DistilledLeadership #SipLearnLead #BuildingCommunity #LeadershipDevelopment #WholeBrainThinking #LeadershipMoments

This is How You Strengthen Your Skills as a Restaurant Leader Huge thank you to Arizona FORGE, Tucson City of Gastronomy, Janos Wilder, Gabe Gardner and Rocco DiGrazia for a passionate panel discussion about the difference between leadership and management. My favorite takeaways were: 1. How great leaders start with a vision of what success looks like 2. The importance of sharing that vision with your team and hiring teammates that share that vision 3. The very important role systems play in the success of restaurants 4. How being innovative with tech such as online ordering and third party delivery can greatly benefit your restaurant by giving you a competitive edge If you are interested in watching the full video, DM me and I will happily send it your way. #restaurant #leadership #management

☕️🥐In the food and beverage industry, knowing when to step back is crucial. Practicing restraint empowers your team and fosters growth. Remember, “being the last one to speak gives you the advantage of hearing what everyone else is thinking.” Here are a few tips:☕️🥐 1. **Listen Actively**: Build trust by encouraging open dialogue. 2. **Delegate Wisely**: Trust your team with responsibilities to nurture their development. 3. **Be Patient**: Allow time for thoughtful decision-making. 4. **Promote Autonomy**: Give your team the freedom to innovate and learn. Restraint in leadership shows strength and confidence in your team. The best leaders empower others to lead, creating a culture of excellence in food and beverage. 🌟 #Leadership #Restraint #Empowerment #TeamBuilding #Innovation #FoodAndBeverage

🍺 Thursday, is: beer as leadership (episode?) So in trying to do ‘Feb fast’ I sampled a non-alcoholic beer (it’s not cheating, I checked [with the guy who sold it to me]). These 0 % beers are getting fancier. It had most of the taste of beer. But… something was missing. A big something. Integral to my experience of beer. My initial response was: not beer without it. Is that true? Or is it that I have only experienced beer with alcohol and not considered there was an alternative? So a week later I tried another (still not cheating, AND it’s research). It was… less worse. What’s the connection to leadership? How about ego? (Not a dirty word) While we try to ensure ego doesn’t drive leadership, a certain amount is needed to actually take up leadership. Or so I have assumed. Maybe because it’s the only experience of leadership I have known? Which gets me to: Is leadership possible with 0% ego? What says you? Cheers 🍻 #wheresthebeer #egoisnotadirtyword #leadership ————————————————————————- 🗒️ available for leadership coaching

COFFEE CULTURE - any leader working in the Food & Beverage industry recognizes how critical #culture is. Culture empowers and ignites the commitment of your people to deliver the very best differentiated experience. It really is that simple. A fun start to a rainy Monday chatting with the spirited CEO of Balzac's Coffee Ltd, Christine Cruz-Clarke. Christine is an embodiment of drive, passion and customer-centric leadership. She also has empathy and smarts in abundance. The delicious latte and almond croissant from their location in the Distillery District was an added bonus. How does your culture grow passionately loyal employees, customers and partners for your business? #strategy #leadership #mutuality #growth

getWITit - Pittsburgh really finds great ways to bring great people in IT together. Tonight’s IT Leadership Career Panel was expertly moderated by Jennifer Onofray at her brewery, Two Frays Brewery with excellent answers and advice given by panelists Aleta H. Jordan Joltes Jennifer (Renda) Priore and Liz Dewar. So many great takeaways, here are some of my faves: * create space for others * be curious, ask questions * always be learning * find mentors, use your network * get in the room * listen more than you talk * take advantage of being new * imagine yourself as the best version of yourself - be you! If you haven’t been to Two Fray Brewery, I highly recommend it. Did you know they are the only PA Brewery who brews their own non-alcoholic beer?! And, if you need space for an event, they have options! #ITleadership #leadership #learn
