33 Days, 1 New Record—Let’s Go! Today’s run wasn’t just another mile; it was a milestone. I clocked my fastest pace yet: 10:20! It may not break any records, but for me? This is huge. Here’s how it all went down: - Mile 0.3: Confidence was sky-high. I felt like I could keep this pace forever. Spoiler: I couldn’t. - Mile 0.6: The realization kicked in. This is fast for me…can I keep going? - Mile 1: Gasping for air, I crossed my virtual “finish line” and checked the stats. 10:20 pace! That’s a personal best! His expedition is a fitting analogy, to the fact that we are currently at sea, with no clear signs of land in sight. ➡️ Are we moving in the right direction with the current strategies? (are we sailing in the right direction) ➡️ Who can we be economically? (Is our boat making actual distance?) ➡️ How is the market behaving? (are challenging waves coming up?) ➡️ Are competitors bringing stormy winds, or are they providing wind in our sails? ➡️ … Just as Hannes Lindemann maintained his composure and relied on his trained #skills despite critical, life-threatening circumstances back then. We have the responsibility to do the same. To proof that it is possible to build up a thriving industry. His books have therefore been a guide on my path and inspiration to risk an own 'little' expedition. In the upcoming BETTERE EXPEDITION, I want to explore firsthand who has the competences to bring our industry forward. Does everyone suck at driving but you? I would guess some of the following tendencies drive you crazy. Not signaling Not knowing who’s turn it is at a stop sign Not knowing how to zipper merge Etc. Recently, I have been taking stock and I’ve noticed that the things other drivers do that drive me crazy, are the things I “occasionally” do. 😬 Look around and take stock of what drives you crazy at work or life. You may do those same things without realizing it. Let’s invert this thinking from sucking to being better What do you feel everyone does better than you? You may have a future talent in that thing. You’re neither as good or as bad as you think you are. Starting today, no more comparison practices. Just beat the hell out of your old self.
