🌟 Transformative Journeys: My Study Experience in Korea 🌟 After a fifteen-hour flight, landing in Korea felt like stepping into a new chapter of my life. I was alone, yet I felt an overwhelming sense of opportunity at Dankook University. This experience has been nothing short of transformative. Facing language barriers head-on and immersing myself in new customs and perspectives have fundamentally changed how I view the world. Each day brought new challenges, but also incredible opportunities to learn and grow alongside peers who were just as eager to exchange knowledge and culture. The cultural exchanges have been breathtaking—from witnessing the mesmerizing Buchaechum dances to wearing traditional Hanbok, from spirited karaoke nights to engaging sports days. These experiences barely scratch the surface of what I've enjoyed here. However, the true highlight has been the people—the friends and colleagues I've met along the way. These relationships, born from stepping out of my comfort zone, have allowed me to create unforgettable bonds that I will cherish forever. I am profoundly grateful for taking this leap, for the bravery to venture beyond familiar grounds, and for the opportunity to be part of this life-changing journey. This experience is one I will hold dear for the rest of my life, a vivid reminder that the bravest step is often the most rewarding. #StudyAbroad #LifeChanging #CulturalExchange #DankookUniversity #Korea #GlobalEducation #LanguageBarrier #BeBrave #Networking

From Application to Triumph: My IISMA Story "𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙛𝙪𝙩𝙪𝙧𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙤𝙣𝙜𝙨 𝙩𝙤 𝙩𝙝𝙤𝙨𝙚 𝙬𝙝𝙤 𝙗𝙚𝙡𝙞𝙚𝙫𝙚 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙗𝙚𝙖𝙪𝙩𝙮 𝙤𝙛 𝙩𝙝𝙚𝙞𝙧 𝙙𝙧𝙚𝙖𝙢𝙨." – 𝙀𝙡𝙚𝙖𝙣𝙤𝙧 𝙍𝙤𝙤𝙨𝙚𝙫𝙚𝙡𝙩 One chill evening a few months back, around 8 PM, I opened the portal with my heart pounding like crazy. It was the big day for the Indonesian International Student Mobility Awards organized by Kementrian Pendidikan dan Kebudayaan selection announcement, a program I’d dreamed of for ages. When I saw the word “Congratulations!” on the screen, I was ecstatic. I got it! I jumped for joy, and happy tears started streaming down my face😭. I immediately ring my parent’s phone to share this fantastic news. They were over the moon🌙 and incredibly proud of me. I also sent messages to my lecturers who had my back all this time, and my friends who were my rock. acknowledging that I couldn’t have made it without them. In less than a month, I’m jetting off to South Korea to study at Woosong University for four months. My excitement is through the roof every single day🚀. I can’t wait to dive into new cultures, make new friends, and soak up all the new experiences. Throughout this path, I’ve learned a lot of valuable lessons, such as: 1. Juggling multiple responsibilities, ensuring I meet all deadlines while keeping my regular studies on track. 2. Enhancing my communication skills, effectively by reaching out to lecturers and friends for support and clearly laying my cards on the table regarding my goals and aspirations. 3. Committing to a strong application and maintaining focus throughout the process. 4. I’ve built valuable relationships with mentors, lecturers, and peers, learning to work hand in glove and appreciate the input of others. 5. Developing resilience, managing the stress and uncertainty of the selection process with a positive mindset💪. This journey will be a rollercoaster, however I’m ready to tackle it head-on with huge determination. I’m beyond grateful for this opportunity and promise to make the most of it. Big thanks to God, my parents, lecturers, and friends for having my back. This new adventure will definitely be my life game-changer. I’m deeply grateful for the endless support from my parents, lecturers, peers, and Ahmad Dahlan University as my home university, their encouragement has been my rock. Also for the insightful mentoring session from kak Nania Hapsari. #ToInclusivityandBeyond #IISMA2024 #StudyAbroad #PersonalBranding

It's been a challenging, fun, intriguing and humbling experience being back (part-time) in the classroom these past 18-months. Learning te reo Māori has always been on my bucket list, and although difficult to juggle in amongst the current chaos of mahi and whānau life, it's been well worth it. With a love for languages, it just felt right that I find the time to take on this wero (challenge), and it been a wonderful journey connecting with new people from around the motu. It's fair to say it's opened up a whole new world, as I have added knowledge on tikanga, (culture/customs), history, tangata whenua and a simplified, holistic approach of life to my kete. It simply resonates. And with the latest political controversies surrounding the full acceptance of our native tongue, it fuels my fire to work even harder to ensure this te reo ātaahua (beautiful language) is no longer left behind. So, despite the challenges, I will try my best to continue with learning te reo Māori, committing to this as a never-ending journey of learning & discovery. Moreover, I want to set a strong example to my tamahine (daughters) that Māori is for all New Zealanders, the learning of which is a privilege and one which should be not only embraced, but celebrated. All said and done: I am still very much in my learning phase, and have a long way to go (certificated Level 2, now onto Level 3/4). My mistakes come thick and fast - but are smoothed over in the company of my daughters (who are learning through their kura (school) and the ever-growing community of people willing to show their aroha & commitment to this beautiful language. Kia kaha te reo Māori! #TeReoMāori #alwayslearning #mondaycreativenz #TeReoĀtaahua #TeAoMāori #akonga

Recently, I was having a casual conversation with my friend Disha Dusad and a thought hit me: “Our Director Harsh Vardhan Jajoo sir lives far away from college and still reaches before time every single day. Meanwhile, I live a stone's throw away and still manage to be late sometimes!” 😅 To this, Disha Dusad quickly added, “I come from far away too, but I manage to make it on time!” That’s when reality hit me -it's not about the distance, it’s about how we value our time and responsibilities. I guess it’s true what they say: realizations can be your best teachers. It’s the small things like this that push us to improve and raise our standards. And speaking of standards…. With my upcoming Japan Immersion Program, I’m trying to get used to “Japanese Standards of Time”⏱️⏱️—because let’s face it, Japan is the masterclass in punctuality! Working on myself for Being the Change in myself So here’s to better habits, more learning! #PersonalGrowth #PunctualityMatters #Realizations #JapanImmersionProgram #AlwaysImproving #TimeManagement #BeTheChange

Today, South Korea did something amazing. For 35 minutes, the skies were silenced. Flights halted, planes circled, drill paused, even construction stopped and a calm settled over the country, Why? To give half a million students taking the college entrance exam (Suneung) a moment of pure focus. Imagine the weight of that. A whole nation pressing “pause” for the dreams of its youth. Think about it. In our busy world, when was the last time we truly stopped for something bigger than ourselves? #Southkorea does this every year for -#Suneung, proving that when it comes to education, the future matters enough to make everyone slow down—even the planes (In total, 156 flights—58 international and 98 domestic—were impacted) Wouldn’t it be amazing if more places honored the hopes of young people like this? can’t stop sharing this story, not just because it’s inspiring, but because it’s a reminder: sometimes, the best way forward is to #pause and lift each other up. #RespectForEducation #FutureGeneration #Suneung #SouthKorea #MomentsThatMatter #Inspiration
