The tumor microenvironment (TME) is a highly complex ecosystem comprising various cell types. Recent research has suggested that there are specific states, or archetypes, of the immune system within the TME. These are closely tied to tumor biology and are possibly key to oncology drug discovery. With the vast amount of high-resolution single-cell and spatial omics data published, and the continuing advancements in machine learning and AI, how would you propose to computationally identify and characterize tumor immune archetypes?
