My experience at MSD South Africa has been incredibly fulfilling, both professionally and personally. In essence, it is a meaningful work environment where passion, empathy, and growth are prioritized. As I approach my three-month mark at MSD, I’ve taken time to reflect on the experiences on this journey so far. There are a few standout moments and realizations that have deeply resonated with me, 1. A Supportive Team: I’m fortunate to work with people who not only excel in their work but are also incredibly kind and willing to support newcomers. The genuine passion they have for what they do is contagious. I adore that I am surrounded by such a welcoming and encouraging group of colleagues. 2. Patient Stories: After I lost my dad to cancer and my younger brother to other health complications, engaging with patients and patient organizations has been especially moving. Stories of survival and resilience remind me of the life-changing impact our work has on individuals and their families. The innovative strides in medicine bring both hope and comfort, and hearing these survivor stories often leaves me in awe, sometimes even with tears of gratitude. 3. Transparency and Accessibility: I’ve grown accustomed to an open-plan work environment, where leadership is not just visible but accessible. This transparency fosters a sense of collaboration and openness that inspires trust. 4. Learning Opportunities: Every day is a chance to learn something new, and that continuous growth excites me. If you’re not learning, it’s hard to feel like you’re truly living. I am grateful for a culture that prioritizes personal and professional development, and it motivates me to keep pushing my boundaries.

Time flies! I've already spent three months in my new job position, and I couldn’t be happier. That’s why I want to take a moment to pause, recap, and share my journey with you. If this connects with you, feel free to share your stories with me in the comments. I would love to hear about them! ✨ 👩⚕️I come from the field of social work and have a background as a nurse. I have been in corporate since 2006. Over the years, I have experienced a lot, worked in many different positions, and learned so much about myself. Social Work is very diverse and demanding. As a result, I have strengthened my resilience and have learned to keep a cool head even in difficult situations. This experience definitely benefits me in my leadership position as a Brand Manager at Chiesi. 🙌 I started at Chiesi as a Key Account Manager, where I focused on designing product presentations and materials based on the doctor's needs. Since the beginning of this year, I have been the Brand and Area Manager of Neonatology and Critical Care. With this new position, I now lead a great team of four people, whom I appreciate a lot. 👉 Every new job or position brings its own difficulties and challenges. In my role as Brand Manager and Team Lead, I had to adapt to this position and figure out what kind of person I want to be on this journey. This always raises questions for me: Who do I want to be for myself? What is my vision of myself, and who do I want to be for my team? I am convinced that authenticity and equality are essential. Respectful interaction is a priority for me. If I show respect to my colleagues, I can also expect respect from them. Everything is a learning process, and I try to gracefully accept the challenges that come my way, grow with, them and apply what I have learned in the future. 😊✨ © Clemens Schneider #careerpath #sharedexperience #marketing #corporate #BehindTheCEEnes #ChiesiThePlaceToBe

Three milestones at work this week: 1. Celebrated my three year anniversary with CSL Behring with my team at our North America Business Meeting in Tampa, Florida. 2. Was honored, alongside two of my close friends and peers with the "Leadership" award for our contributions to our team and company in delivering the highest level of patient focus. 3. I was advanced within our career ladder to Senior MSL. at CSL, (this is achieved by accomplishing KPI milestones, not just by years of tenure within the company or industry) Regarding the Leadership Award: It does not sound as flashy from a "Pharma Brag Book" nor is it as lucritive from a compensation perspective compared to a President's Club or Circle of Excellence...(not that I am complaining about winning COE last year). As I reflect on what this recognition means to me, I can't help but to return to the thought process that recognitions such as this Leadership Award, and The Collaboration Award I received at a prior company just hits differently. I feel that when we recognize values that lead to long term success within a team, as well as the more prestigious personal accolades mentioned earlier, you create a culture of support and a "team first" mentality while still motivating everyone to continue to grow and lean into challenges. And I acknowledge that by working in pharma, we should always strive to grab that "brass ring" that is proof of being a consistant top performer to assure job security as well as long term company goal obtainment. I also recognize that covid, the lockdown and work from home changed many team dynamics and in some cases, appears to have reduced the trust and cross functional understanding between various teams in a company. Perhaps more thought and resources could be allocated to recognize those on teams that achieve these interpersonal and collaborative recognitions as a way to reset the team dynamic within the current reality, in which we operate. I've heard the old saying, "Happy Wife Equals a Happy Life" and perhaps similarly, commercial success can be linked to the quality of the interpersonal relationships of our cross-functional teams in pharma. (Please excuse the gender/role specific language if your personal identification differs) I apologise for the "Deep Thoughts" from 35000 ft as I fly back to New Orleans. Maybe I should take a nap.

There's something profoundly humbling about waking up each morning and realizing that you're part of something far greater than you could have ever imagined. My job has changed how I see each day. It's a journey that takes me across continents, connecting with colleagues across different affiliates, diving into their unique challenges, opportunities and share one mission - Make a real difference in patients' lives. This is a mix of honor, responsibility, and passion. Knowing that our innovations, tools, and technology can change someone's health journey is both a privilege and a powerful motivator. Thanks AbbVie team, for making possibility real. #abbvie #teamwork #leadership #healthcare #lifesciences #pharmaceuticalindustry #patientexperience #makingadifferencetogether #healthcareinnovations

I have very mixed emotions today, as it is my last day with Takeda. I joined the company through an acquisition of Shire and have been at the combined company since 2016. There is so much to be proud of over my tenure here and so many friendships that I've made, and I will cherish it forever. My career wouldn't be where it is today if not for the support and trust put in me by special leaders like Luis F. Rojas and the opportunities afforded to me by a company with a mission that is so much bigger than myself or any single person. It's daunting to think about being part of an organization that is based thousands of miles away, has existed since 1781 (!!!), impacts countless people's lives in profound ways, and does so with an incredibly strong value system. The PTRB (Patient-Trust-Reputation-Business) way of thinking has left a permanent shift in my ideology and philosophy, teaching me so much about what it means to think bigger than one's self. I hope that I was able to contribute to that mission in a meaningful way, even if only transient like a single snare hit over the course of an album. It's wild to look back to when I started at the company in 2016, fresh out of business school, full of energy and ambition, and largely inexperienced in the dynamics of how a massive global organization really functions. It's one thing to have read about how executive level decisions are made, how to influence those decisions, how to be both a good leader and a good manager but it's another to practice them. I had the amazing fortune of learning under Luis F. Rojas, a person that I will always look up to as what a leader and a man should be. He taught me so much about leading with humility and integrity, challenging with respect, treating others equally and fairly regardless of their level or background, and how to be a great manager at the same time. More than all of that, he taught me how to be a better person, father, and partner. He afforded me the opportunity to be part of conversations at the highest level that I could have only dreamed of when reading about them in business school case studies. I was able to be a part of executive conversations and decisions on shaping how we supported employees at the onset of the pandemic, shaping our return-to-work policies, and informing how we prioritize the things that truly mattered to our incredible workforce. Success doesn't occur in a vacuum; it happens when everyone is aligned on a common purpose, and you are afforded the opportunity to make a difference. These accomplishments are not my own, they are of the team I was a part of. This is the lesson that Takeda has taught me and that I will take with me forever. My next step brings me back into the People Analytics space and I'm really excited to take everything I've learned to build another world-class team. It's equal parts scary and exciting to start over but that's what makes it fun! Thank you, Takeda, for everything you have done for my career.

I’m happy to have celebrated 2 years at Novo Nordisk on 7-11! I have learned so much so far. The opportunity to join such a high performing organization, area, region and district is an enormous bonus! I’m forever grateful for each and every person within my network. No deed goes unnoticed. There have been many who believed in my abilities and the endless possibilities for growth. I’m better for it. Here are five things that I’d recommend if you’re looking to make a change in your career: 1. Remember your “why” 2. Get out of the pile (pay for a stellar resume) 3. Hire a career or interview coach (if it’s been a while) 4. Highlight your optimism, willingness to adapt and life long learning habits 5. Tap into your network Cheers to many more years of growth and prosperity ahead!! #20yearsofnursing #12 yearsasaneducator #2yearsinindustry

August marks another milestone in my career at Novartis as I entered 13th Year of amazing journey with Novartis. These 13 years have been full of diverse (Drug Development, Leadership, Strategy, Consulting and list goes on) experiences and many lessons for life. Below are my top 5 picks for people and organizations: 1. Intangible benefits of long-term relationships are of No less importance than financial benefits a job can offer. Having peace of mind, good people to work with and enjoying your work has much more net value than estimated. 2. Developing depth and breadth of knowledge, both are of equal value and career must have a right mix of both. Neither organizations, nor individuals should see lack of any of those as bottlenecks – both competencies are mandatory for successful businesses and career. 3. Perfection is a myth and both organizations and individuals must embrace imperfections and see it. Amplify strengths and just be aware of opportunities (no need to put more energy than required to overcome weaknesses). 4. Things evolve, and many times very differently than you would have planned. But that’s what life is all about, Isn’t it? Being ready for those with resilience and open mindset helps. 5. Last but not the least, saying No is difficult (including to some career opportunities) but gives you immense confidence and pleasure to pursue what you want in life (in actual sense) and yes most of the times makes us happy in long run.

My first 100 days at Almirall- It is good to reflect on the importance of the first 100 days in a new job and/or in a new company, not only because it allows you to leave the past behind but also to learn as much as you can about the new job. Personally, it means I am back to my hometown, so the change has been big personally and professionally 🌟 I’ve just accomplished this milestone at Almirall and I would like to share some thoughts: 👇 👉 First days is about listening and asking the right questions, meet lots of people and go through the on-boarding plan. I am very thankful to the many people who supported me on this journey and I gave even more value to the face to face interactions, you learn much more about the person! 👉 Company culture is a very ethereal concept, culture is what people think and says about the company, at Almirall I learn about the cultural transformation that the company is going through, and it is real, you feel it in everyone I meet. 👉 For someone like me with an international passion it is a privilege to work in an international Head quarter in Barcelona, and keep the interactions with different markets and people to run the commercial strategy. 👉 It is incredible to see how much knowledge there is in each corner, passion and dedication. Competing with big pharmas make us to leverage in our strengths, being one of them agility, and I can tell you with my big Pharma mindset at Almirall Agility has another dimension. 😃 ❤️ Looking forward to contribute to transform patients’ world by helping them realize their hopes and dreams for a healthy life 👊 #newjob #Almirall #backhome

The Leap: An Inevitable That’s Planned Celebrating one Year at Johnson and Johnson Innovative Medicine 🥳 Change is the only constant, but sometimes, even the inevitable needs a plan. A plan that leads to growth. To a leap forward. For me, #Novartis wasn’t just a company—it was my school of experience and expertise. It’s where I learned, grew, and became confident in who I am today. Though I’ve moved on, Novartis will always hold a special place as the foundation of my professional journey. But growth often requires embracing the inevitable. And for me, that meant taking a leap of faith—leaving behind the familiar to step into the unknown. With countless questions in my mind, I took that leap and joined Johnson & Johnson. On 23rd November 2024, I completed one year at Johnson & Johnson, and I can proudly say it’s the best decision I’ve ever made. Johnson & Johnson Innovative Medicine has not just been a workplace—it’s been a space where I feel motivated, inspired, and aligned with a mission to change the trajectory of human health every single day. Sometimes, the #inevitable may feel uncertain. But with the right intent, it becomes the foundation for a better, brighter future—a true #leap forward. #Growth #Change #CareerJourney #JohnsonAndJohnson #Novartis #Motivation #1year #J&J
