In the fast-paced world, employers need to hire individuals who are capable of communicating concisely, working under pressure, dealing with stressful situations such as toxic coworkers and bosses; as well as having necessary hard skills and full work experiences.
However, not all of these criteria are true for individuals with autism. Autistic individuals may not communicate well and deal with everything as fast as non-autistic ones, but they could perform their tasks well thanks to their detail-oriented nature (e.g. sticking to structures, routines, and clear expectations for organizing and prioritizing different tasks).
Furthermore, they are the ones who really bring positive changes to the workplace culture and environment. If neurotypical employees are unable to speak up against toxic company culture and environment, then those who are neurodivergent would unveil unspoken truth and demonstrate their perspective which needs to be seen and heard. Thus, this would improve the organization systems and even make the world a safer place.
I hope every employer in every company and organization are aware of the abilities of neurodivergent candidates. In this way they could make wise decisions to hire individuals who have a sense of responsibility, and can actually perform their tasks well; instead of those who are good at communication but still neglect their own and their teams' work.
