Owner Simon Property Group is investing more than $400 million is being invested into suburban Minneanapolis' Southdate Center. America's best malls are having a bit of a moment right now, in large part because of the durability of luxury retailers in the e-commerce age. While consumers may be spending less time in malls than ever before, they're still buying designer items in person. While the renovation is still in progress and the long-term payoff of the bet is unclear, Southdale Center is showing promising early signs of success with a full apartment building and a hotel that commands more than $200 per night during its busy season.

Daily Observations from The Cromford Report " The average change in CMI over the past month is +0.8%, down from +1.8 last week and reversing the trend that started six weeks ago. We have only 6 cities showing an increase in their Cromford® Market Index over the past month, while 11 have declined. This is significantly less positive than last week. Paradise Valley, Peoria, Fountain Hills and Goodyear are the biggest moves in favor of sellers. Tempe, Queen Creek and Maricopa are the primary locations moving in favor of buyers. Buckeye has been improving for sellers and is no longer at the bottom of the table having been replaced by Maricopa is looking very likely to take its place. Chandler is still far out in front at the top, but Fountain Hills is now the main challenger. 11 out of 17 cities are seller's markets. Manhattan’s famed luxury store row Fifth Avenue is in line for a major makeover. New York City officials recently unveiled a plan to transform a central portion of the thoroughfare between Bryant Park and Central Park into a more pedestrian-centered boulevard. They propose doubling the size of sidewalks, reducing traffic lanes from five to three, as well as adding seating areas and hundreds of trees and planters, among other improvements. What are the advantages of Victoria Park/Barrambin Stadium? Connected, equitable and enlivens existing inner city precincts (which are walkable from the stadium). The stadium would be accessible and connected to 5 existing mass transit stations - Exhibition, Herston, RBWH, QUT & Normanby Stations. It's central location within the inner city enables better and easier access for more people (i.e. more equitable). Match-day events would activate, enliven and strengthen the economic viability of adjacent inner city precincts such as Kelvin Grove Urban Village & King Street (Fortitude Valley). Event-day experiences for spectators would be enhanced through the offer of walkable pre-event and post-event gathering venues in the existing commercial/activity centres.
