#CSW68 is off to a great start with an invigorating discussion on resourcing feminist futures and a fiery line up of youth organizers and feminist funders. The stories shared by youth organizers on funding practices that reinforce oppressive power structures and hinder our ability to get work done is one we’re very familiar with. It was also really important to see funders share the ways they are bypassing these structures to make sure funds get into the hands of girls and youth-led organizations. The risks in the environments we work with, especially in the Global South, demands care and transformative funding practices. From the point of designing funds to the disbursing stage, funders should aim for radical feminist practices that may go against the funding frameworks they are used to but ensures the work gets done.
