Location scouts are always interesting, but yesterday’s VIP tour of iconic Fenway Park was a ‘monster’ of a time. Ten-year-old fanboy Tim would be ‘green’ with envy, let me tell you. ⚾ Bad puns aside, I tell people all the time that a career in video marketing is second to none because most days, it’s like having an all-access, unfiltered, behind-the-scenes pass into the inner workings of industry masters. Just like Dorothy in the Land of Oz, we get to peek behind the curtain and witness how innovations are concocted, technologies are forged, and champions are bred. We're in the board room, the locker room, and everywhere in between… Capturing the essence of brand journeys Telling the stories of leaders shaping our future Showcasing the human side of corporate giants In what other career field do you get to hang with the C-Suite, brainstorm with visionaries, and be a part of strategic brand discussions? Or in the case of yesterday, literally stand in Red Sox manager Alex Cora’s office, stroll along center field, and explore the backstage halls of baseball legends. And the best part? Every day is a new adventure, every project a new creative opportunity. It's more than a job; it's a front-row seat to the world's most exciting stories.

A couple weeks ago I flew to San Diego to speak at the Pacific Beach Rotaract. I was invited there by my niece Nicole Siguenza, to speak on how to manage your career regardless of whether you are looking for a new job, a shift in role or getting onto a prime project. I'll for sure write a post and share here, as it even helped me think through my next career move! Some good reminders for all of us! #rotaryinternational , #rotary , #earlycareer , #careermanagement

On this last day of #RPMCareersWeek, I wanted to reflect on my leadership role in the property management industry and why I can’t imagine doing anything else! Unlike many others, I didn’t fall into this industry by chance. I started at VT in Interior Design, but later switched to Residential Property Management, which was a Program in the same College of Liberal Arts and Human Sciences. I started a part-time job at a local student housing community and never turned back! Over the next 17 years, I worked in student housing and then the last 12 in conventional housing in many cities, and in roles ranging from Floating Manager to Regional Manager. I absolutely love this industry for a variety of reasons: - No day is the same, and every day is filled with opportunities! - I learn something new every day and never, ever get bored. - Opportunities for employment are endless, as everyone everywhere needs housing! - The growth opportunities are endless in this fast-paced industry! If you desire it, you can achieve it! - My favorite part is the opportunity to lead others. Seeing my teams learn, grow, face challenges, celebrate successes, and thrive in this industry is incredibly rewarding! So, if you’re considering a job in this industry, just know that it will get in your blood and you’ll be hooked! And if you’re looking for a company where you can make a difference, feel valued, and have the opportunity to advance your career, check out #KETTLER! #propertymanagement #careeropportunities #leadership

We’ve launched! On Wednesday, September 4th, VISIT DENVER kicked off its first-ever workforce development initiative called “Boredom is Fired”—because, as many of us know, it’s NEVER boring working in the tourism and hospitality industry! This initiative was born out of concerns shared by our partners and board members about unmet workforce needs. After years of research and collaboration with our community, we identified what motivates the younger generation to pursue jobs—and eventually careers—in our industry! The campaign itself targets 18- to 20-year-olds in metro Denver, encouraging them to explore careers in tourism and hospitality. The campaign directs them to a new website with job profiles, openings, educational resources, and more! Additionally, the initiative includes an outreach program where I’ll visit schools with emerging leaders in our industry (aka ambassadors), to engage directly with middle and high school students, sharing resources and videos that highlight their personal stories. As a student and now a recent grad, I understand how valuable these stories can be. They guided my own journey, and I hope this campaign will inspire others to forge their own path in this dynamic industry If you’d like to get involved or have questions, please reach out! Otherwise, explore the website, share it with your team, and follow us on Instagram @boredomisfired. #HospitalityIndustry #HospitalityJobs #BoredomIsFired #VisitDenver #DenverHospitality #OpenPositions #FindJobs #Hiring #DenverJobs #HospitalityJobs #HospitalityCareers #WorkInHospitality #DenverTourism #WorkforceDevelopmentMonth

At it again today for the Security Expo at Bristol Aerospace, a fantastic venue with all the companies perched under the awesome machine that is Concord, what was not to like? It's heartening to know there is so much opportunity out there across such a wide spectrum of opportunities. The biggest take aways I have from attending these fairs though is twofold: 1. How hard do you want to work when you leave? There are mega bucks but they want their pound of flesh! Alternatively, there are less pressure roles that will drastically alter your work-life balance but you won't be able to afford that yacht! 2. What do you actually want to do? There are so many options and so many niche fields that you can work in that you really need to narrow down where you want to be early on. It's very easy to get trapped in the project manager cliche but narrowing your scope will help direct your focus onto the right companies and also help you perfect that awkward blurb when your talking to someone at a stand. Even if it is project management, knowing the sort of projects or programmes you want to get involved with will help! These are not easy questions to answer a lot of the time and I suspect there is a balance to be struck with the whole life package not just the paycheck! Work hard on your prep for these things, be clear with potential employers and don't settle unless you have to! I broadly know who I want to work for and what I want to do but am handcapped by time I have left (mid may next year - mark it in your diary if you recruit! 📌 ) what it does do though is save me time and effort and allows me to focus where I need to! Good luck!
