The key to feeding your family well is simplicity. Not necessarily simple foods, but a routine (or pattern) that *feels* simple. 🫣 This week I’m on solo parent ops with three busy kids. Simplicity is the only way Team Campbell will accomplish everything on the schedule with any remnant of sanity left. So today’s breakfast? Simple. Half of a bagel (we each chose cream cheese or butter), half banana, yogurt drink. 👏🏼This will help us feel full with 5 grams of fiber and 15 grams of protein. We will kickstart our brains with natural and added sugars. 😍 Best part? It was quick, simple, and the yogurt drinks (normally out of budget) were BOGO this week. This is the mindset we encourage in our course, Fuel the Homefront, at InDependent | The Space for Military Spouse Wellness: find what works for your family’s tempo, budget, and preferences, then make it work for you! 🎉Simplicity all day. #foodinsecurity #familymeal #militaryspouse #militaryfamily #dietitian

Take a few minutes to listen to a conversation with Anita Polite-Wilson, Ph.D., a past client and a friend. This discussion may be particularly beneficial if you're currently experiencing tension at work or within your family, especially with the holidays approaching. I found the insights shared in this conversation about framing valuable. While healthy debate can be constructive—after all, “Iron sharpens iron”—navigating these conversations has not always been easy. One key takeaway for me was the importance of framing debates in a way that focuses on finding solutions rather than seeking power or being on defense. Unfortunately, recent debates have often resulted in individuals demeaning one another, which is counterproductive and can even harm family bonds, especially amid political differences. Despite our societal divisions, we must find ways to coexist and respect our differences to build a truly united community. #community #family #holidays

Hello Community! As we prepare to celebrate Thanksgiving next week, I am joined again by my guests Jason Eisner and Neil Pretty, co-founders of Aristotle Performance. Today, we’ll reflect on what we can be thankful for in terms of what we know about psych safety, especially as it plays into navigating potentially tense election conversations at the dinner table—turning them into moments of understanding rather than conflict. Next week, Real Conversations from the C-Suite (where the “C” stands for cooking) will be happening around my dinner table, so I’ll see you next month. Have a blessed Thanksgiving! Connect with me! Summer is vastly approaching! ⛱️ Are you still undecided about what activities you want to do with your child(ren) this summer? Read below to get some ideas from us: 1. Go bird watching: Take photos and keep track of your sightings. You can use an app or guidebook to identify feathered friends. 2. Make a time capsule: Have each family member write down something they are grateful for and include a special item in the time capsule. Store it away until a designated date and open it on a set date. 3. Take a road trip to a nearby city: Spend the night if you can or just make it a day trip exploring the sights. 4. Visit a historic house or farm: Learn how times have changed and what people back then lived without. 5. Visit a local farmers’ market: Feast on the fruits and veggies of the season and enjoy a few locally-made treats. . . . #MiamiDade #Monroe #earlylearning #parents #training #toddler #VPK #smallbusinesses #SchoolReadiness #EHS #EarlyHeadStart #nowhiring #jobopenings
