Behind the Scenes of the Waitrose Christmas Advert: Insights from an Executive Assistant's Perspective 🔎 Like many of you, I recently watched the Waitrose Christmas advert, and beyond the heartwarming festive magic, I saw something else: a masterclass in planning, coordination, and execution. Behind every beautiful scene—from the perfectly arranged table to the seamless transitions between joyful moments—there’s a team of people working tirelessly to ensure everything runs smoothly. It reminded me so much of what we, as Executive Assistants, do every single day. ✅ Attention to Detail: Just like the creators of the advert carefully curated every frame, EAs focus on the small details that make a big difference—from scheduling meetings with precision to organizing travel itineraries that run like clockwork. 🤝 Teamwork Makes the Dream Work: Collaboration is at the heart of success, whether it’s in a festive kitchen or the boardroom. As an EA, I act as the linchpin, ensuring everyone has what they need to thrive. 🎯 Strategic Planning: The advert’s ability to evoke emotion isn’t accidental. It’s the result of meticulous planning and a clear vision. Similarly, EAs ensure that executives stay on track, focused on their goals, and ready to deliver impact. This holiday season, I’m reminded of how much magic we create—not just for our teams but for the businesses and communities we serve. Just like Waitrose brought Christmas to life, we EAs bring calm, structure, and efficiency to every workspace. What’s been your biggest "executive moment" this year that felt like pulling off Christmas magic? 🎄 #ExecutiveAssistant #Leadership #Teamwork #Christmas2024 #Efficiency

It's time for another #tiptuesday! 👷👍While the festive spirit is in the air and celebrations are in full swing, it's crucial to prioritize workplace safety to safeguard both your employees and your organization. Here are 5 key tips to keep in mind when planning and attending your staff Christmas party 🎄🥳 1. Risk Assessment Is Key: Before the party kicks off, conduct a risk assessment of the venue to identify potential hazards such as slippery floors, overcrowding, or faulty electrical outlets. 2. Clear Communication: Communicate important safety information to all attendees prior to the event. This could include emergency procedures, designated first aid personnel, and guidelines for responsible alcohol consumption. 3. Designated Driver Programs: If alcohol will be served at the party, implement a designated driver program or arrange for alternative transportation options to ensure that everyone gets home safely. Your employees' safety should always be the top priority. 4. Emergency Preparedness: Have a plan in place for emergencies such as medical incidents, fires, or evacuations. Familiarize yourself with the location of emergency exits and equipment. 5. Post-Party Reflection: After the festivities have concluded, take the time to reflect on a great party, hopefully without issues. If there were any incidents, determine how to prevent them from happening again and incorporate into future planning. Remember, a successful Christmas party is not just about having a good time - it's about ensuring that everyone can celebrate in a safe and secure environment. By prioritizing workplace safety during staff gatherings, you are not only protecting your employees but also demonstrating your commitment to their well-being. You can ensure a great time when you prevent, not react! 🎉 Have questions? Season is around the corner in Palm Beach 🏝️ Let's make sure you are ready for it! Imagine walking into a bustling restaurant. 🍽️ You sit down, and the chef greets you at the table, ready to take your order. 👨🍳 The waiter is back in the kitchen, prepping your six-course Michelin meal. The busser is pouring your wine. 🍷 S𝗼𝘂𝗻𝗱𝘀 𝗹𝗶𝗸𝗲 𝗰𝗵𝗮𝗼𝘀, 𝗿𝗶𝗴𝗵𝘁? Now, translate that to a high-profile household. When roles blur, efficiency and harmony crumble. A Nanny, a Housekeeper, and a House Manager are not the same. Each has unique skills that make the household run smoothly. 𝗟𝗲𝘁 𝗺𝗲 𝘁𝗲𝗹𝗹 𝘆𝗼𝘂 𝗮 𝘀𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆: A client once approached me to find a '𝘀𝘂𝗽𝗲𝗿𝗵𝘂𝗺𝗮𝗻' who could manage childcare, clean the house, and oversee the household. I had to explain that while 𝙨𝙪𝙥𝙚𝙧𝙝𝙚𝙧𝙤𝙚𝙨 belong in movies, a well organized team belongs in real life. We placed separately a Nanny, a Housekeeper, and a House Manager. Each brought their own expertise to the table. 𝙏𝙝𝙚 𝙧𝙚𝙨𝙪𝙡𝙩? A harmonious, efficient household where everyone thrived. Recruiters and agencies have a responsibility to educate clients on the importance of delineating roles and the potential downfall of combining too many roles into one. It's not just about filling positions; it's about creating a balanced household and environment. We need to guide our clients to see the value in specialized roles. When each staff members knows their responsibilities, they can excel at what they do best. Just like a well run restaurant, where the chef cooks, the waiter serves, and the busser clears the table. It’s the recipe for success. 𝗦𝗼, 𝘁𝗼 𝗮𝗹𝗹 𝗺𝘆 𝗳𝗲𝗹𝗹𝗼𝘄 𝗿𝗲𝗰𝗿𝘂𝗶𝘁𝗲𝗿𝘀, 𝗹𝗲𝘁’𝘀 𝘁𝗮𝗸𝗲 𝗼𝗻 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗿𝗼𝗹𝗲 𝗼𝗳 𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗰𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘀. Let’s help our clients build teams where everyone knows their part. Because when roles are clear, magic happens✨. What’s your story? Have you experienced the power of role clarity? 𝙄’𝙙 𝙡𝙤𝙫𝙚 𝙩𝙤 𝙝𝙚𝙖𝙧 𝙖𝙗𝙤𝙪𝙩 𝙞𝙩 𝙞𝙣 𝙩𝙝𝙚 𝙘𝙤𝙢𝙢𝙚𝙣𝙩𝙨.

As we head into the end of the week, I always think of the many cleaners that are either finishing the week or have cleans to be performed. And like Rosie in the video, the question I ask is - are the cleaners getting treated as they should be? Yes, the impression in the video is of a gig worker, and the first impression that comes to mind is an Uber driver, or maybe a DoorDash delivery person, but what if I told you that the Fair Work Commission changes, due August 26, 2024, class cleaners as gig workers in Australia. Why? Because most cleaners are underpaid, mistreated, and incorrectly classed as contractors (over 80% percent of the cleaning industry operates like this - Sham Contracting) when they actually employees. So I ask you, if your cleaners, like Rosie are trying to earn a living, but getting to some payment that equates to $7 per hour, do you think this is fair? There is a solution - for everyone to accept that all workers deserve to be paid correctly, even if this means that the cleaning costs will go up. And just like Rosie, when she sees an opportunity to get a well paid job, where she is treated well, we get cleaners approach us. Cleaners hear from their relatives, their friends, and our current cleaners about how we treat our team, and contact us, asking how do they get a job with us. And to you, what is the outcome? A cleaner that is so appreciative to have the job, so happy to at last be paid correctly, so happy to have the training and support, they do their ultimate best to deliver to you, our clients and us, the best standard they can. So as we all end a week, I ask for some thought to be given to the Gig workers - the ones that work the hours most of us don't like to even think about working, and ask are they being treated fairly?
Rosie starts a career that's Built to Last

Earlier this year when https://lnkd.in/ge4k5sC4 just got her first commercial contract with a major restaurant chain in New Jersey, I faced one of the biggest challenges in business. Our business model is simple, we go after major contracts, outsource the operations, and their manager reports to me on a weekly basis. It happened that on a fateful day in March, the cleaners did their job and close for the day, around 12 noon, the manager called and told me they were quitting and they don’t care about our agreement. I was totally shocked and disappointed, I tried to plead and ask if he could give me more time to get new cleaning contractors, he didn’t answer my calls neither did he respond to my messages. We needed cleaners for the night shift in order to ensure seamless operations for this restaurant. After making some efforts that didn’t work, my last resort was to go on my kneels and pray since I was out of options. Then I went on Facebook marketplace to search for contractors, after making some rounds of calls, I saw a cleaning contractor whom I haven’t met in person till today that told me she would like to work for me with her team. This happened within 2 hours of receiving the bad news and my internal doubt of quitting, hmmmm…… Fast forward to today, we have scaled to 6 figures, owing several commercial contracts and still counting. Lesson learned: If you truly want to achieve success in your personal life or business, be ready for disappointment and trials. #my6figurebusinessjourney #jomalekscleaningservicesllc
