Bain & Company is the leading company when it comes to producing founders, according to a recent report by OnDeck. As someone who left Bain to launch T4, I can attest to their supportive culture. Our co-founder, Kunal Bahl, led the development of Confederation of Indian Industry's Corporate Governance Charter for Start-ups. The charter is designed to help startups understand the governance requirements they can follow in different stages of their journey - from inception to becoming a public company. Ms Madhabi Puri Buch (Chairperson, Securities and Exchange Board of India (SEBI)) released the charter today in the presence of M. R Dinesh (President- CII), Mr Sanjiv Bajaj (Chairman, CII Corporate Governance Council), Mr Kunal Bahl (Chairman, CII's National Startup Council) and Mr Chandrajit Banerjee (DG, CII). On the release of Charter, Mr Kunal Bahl said, “While start-ups thrive on innovation, disruption, and the fast-paced pursuit of growth opportunities, robust corporate governance improves the quality of their decisions and promotes long-term strategic thinking. It is vital to embed the tenets of good corporate governance from the earliest days of a startup so that, over time, they become part of the organization's DNA, helping guide and steer the startup and all its stakeholders through various stages of its growth and evolution." The programme helps technology companies to further grow, especially now when the demand for innovation is high. Twenty years ago, I had the privilege of meeting Pablo Brenner during an Endevor Selection Panel in Punta del Este, Uruguay. We first connected over dinner with Jose Felipe B., chatting about Wi-Fi (he holds a couple of patents on it), companies, family, and dreams. That week triggered some transformational events, leading to my second exit and many other adventures. Ten years later, we met again in Montevideo, this time for lunch with Matias Boix and Javier Minhondo, while he was serving as VP of Innovation for Globant. Our conversation revolved around entrepreneurship as a lifestyle, family, and dreams. Once again, that lunch marked the beginning of significant changes in my life. Last week, I had the pleasure of meeting Pablo in Boulder, Colorado, for another lunch. We discussed cultural differences, establishing LATAM companies in markets like the USA or Europe, family, and dreams. Who knows what changes will come from this meeting or where we will land next, but I am confident it will lead to something great. Pablo has recently launched a new company, helping businesses raise funds, grow, and navigate mergers and acquisitions. He will be in San Francisco for a few days. Beyond his expertise in strategy and his extensive network in LATAM and the USA, Pablo is a remarkable human being who deeply loves his wife and daughters.
