📣 The new volume of #BGO is out! 🌏 The new volume of #BGO (Bulletin of Geophysics and Oceanography) collects a selection of papers presented during the 41st annual national conference of the Gruppo Nazionale di Geofisica della Terra Solida (GNGTS), that was established in 1978 as an offshoot of the Italian National Research Council (CNR) to promote, develop, and coordinate research in the field of solid Earth geophysics. 🌐 The #GNGTS annual conference, a recurring event for more than 40 years now, is the spontaneous meeting point for all researchers who work, even in different roles, in #geophysics, #seismology, #geology, and #volcanology, as well as all the scientific branches that collaborate to improve our knowledge of the #solidEarth. The Bulletin of Geophysics and Oceanography is a quarterly publication and is devoted to publishing original articles dealing with surface geophysics, deep geophysics, well geophysics, exploration geophysics, geodynamics and seismotectonics, seismology, engineering-related seismology, geophysical modelling, geodesy, remote sensing, seismic and geodetic theses, oceanography, and their application in the fields of energy, natural resources, environment and climate, policy and regulation, risk and security, technological development.

Unleashing the Power of the Earth: A Seismic Journey Two years ago, I had the incredible opportunity to dive deep into the world of geophysics at NRIAG- National Research Institiute of Astronomy and Geophysics 's intensive seismic survey training. Four days of exploring Earth's dynamics, earthquakes, and the magic of electricity and magnetism laid the groundwork for an unforgettable hands-on experience. The highlight? Transforming theory into practice by generating seismic waves with a hammer and observing them live on a seismograph. Witnessing those signals come to life was a game-changer! This training ignited my passion for understanding our planet's inner workings. 📣 The second ILGE Transnational Access (TNA) and National Open Access (NOA) call is now open! The ILGE TNA/NOA program offers students, researchers and professors the opportunity to receive scientific, financial and logistical support to carry out their research activities in top Italian laboratories. The ILGE (Integrated Laboratories for Geosciences and Environment) network is part of #MEET project(Monitoring Earth's Evolution and Tectonics), supported by #PNRR program. 🌎 The infrastructure network involves four important Italian institutions: the Istituto Nazionale di Geofisica e Vulcanologia, Università Roma3, Consiglio Nazionale delle Ricerche and #OGS, integrating different disciplines Earth sciences, including analog modeling, experimental volcanology, geophysics, tectonics, paleomagnetism, geochemistry, microscopy, sedimentology and investigations into site effects. 🔬 The TNA/NOA call is aimed at promoting barrier-free science and scientific innovation by facilitating access to the main national structures for researchers at all stages of their career. The ILGE TNA/NOA program allows physical and remote access to Italian laboratory facilities to national, European and non-European entities, providing the logistical, technological and scientific support and specific training necessary to use the services provided by the facility. Access to the laboratories is free and the ILGE TNA/NOA program covers the costs of physical access activities (i.e., travel, accommodation and subsistence) or remote access (i.e., shipping of samples).
