A shame that one of Soccer's great stars, Erling Haalaand might never play at the FIFA Men's World Cup except FIFA/EUFA changes something (rules) critically. I know we got more teams for 2026 but its not a given Norway will make it. With a new era of football stars birthed, that change is critical to the global marketability and appeal of the sport. If he misses 2026, he's going to be 29 when the next WC takes place in Morocco/Portugal and Spain, 2030. Every sport needs its stars at the BIGGEST stage. #SoccerBiz #SportMarketability #SportMarketing

The quarter final match between France and Portugal will be a riveting one, after France as the host in 2016, was defeated by a Portugal squad not as good as the present Portugal squad. The latter triumphed despite being underdogs. France, will face a tougher Portugal this time around, making for a quarter-final filled with so much poise. France arguably got their best redemption by winning the 2018 FIFA World Cup after two years of losing in the finals of a continental championship they hosted. That being said, revenge for the 2016 loss will still definitely be in the offing. It is also worthwhile to note the following; 1. France are yet to score from open play in the tournament, with their only goals coming from a penalty by Kylian Mbappe and two goals from the opposing team. 2. Portugal do have a record of ups and downs in the tournament, with two wins, a loss to Georgia, and a win over Slovenia via penalty shootouts. You all should brace yourselves for a pulsating encounter! #Sports #Football #Euros

⚽🇩🇪🇧🇷👎#ViralOfTheWeekend: No reason to smile: 10 years of the infamous “7×1” This July 8th marks ten years since Germany beat Brazil 7-1 at the 2014 World Cup. As we are sure you recall, the 2014 World Cup was also hosted by Brazil, so the expectations of winning a sixth trophy were very high. The Canarinho’s chances were also good, having already beaten Chile in the round of 16 and Colombia in the quarter-finals to reach the semifinals. There was also the not-negligible fact that the green and yellow squad at the time was led by the fiery star Neymar, who was far from the inconsistency and injuries we see today. However, during Brazil’s 2-1 victory against Los Cafeteros, Neymar suffered a nasty injury after being kneed in the back by Colombia’s Juan Zuniga. He fractured a vertebra and left the competition, missing the game that would change Brazil’s sports history forever. Would things have gone differently if he hadn't been hurt? Sadly, there are no “ifs” in history. And on an otherwise typical Tuesday in Minas Gerais capital Belo Horizonte, Brazilians and people from all over the planet were shocked by the unexpected and very traumatic 7-1 defeat to Germany. So, “happy” 7×1 day, everyone! We hope something like this never happens again … 🔗Read more in our Patreon page! 🎥Source: FIFA #7a1foipouco #brazil #germany #fifaworldcup2014

Tonight, #Spain faces #England in the UEFA EURO 2024 final 🏆 If we look into Spain's squad (https://lnkd.in/d4xNNxXw) and #vizualize where those players first started their #youth #football career (https://lnkd.in/daATJWCj) geographically, we see the attached #map ⚽️ While the contributions from #Madrid and #Barcelona are unsurprising, it was interesting to see the #Basque region's impact from the North. I also expected more contributions from the South (#Andalusia) 🗺 This distribution can be interesting for Real Federación Española de Fútbol, LALIGA, Marca, Fußball Scouting Verband, and #scouts who want to find regions that produce top talents 🔍 What other interesting observations can you make? 🤔 To learn more about the method and #data source, visit my previous post at https://lnkd.in/dwDyrhvr #soccer #footballdata #uefa #laliga #marca

Luis de la Fuente's approach has been praised and has resulted in a more dynamic and resilient squad capable of adapting to different opponents and match situations. It promotes the importance of the ideology of 'having versatility in creativity'. Versatility in creativity is a vital asset in sports, where athletes and teams must constantly adapt to dynamic and unpredictable conditions. #euro2024 #football #teamperformance

#MIGRANTS ARE GOOD ENOUGH TO THE NATIONALISTS OF ALL NATIONS FOR WINNING MEDALS ; HOWEVER THE VERY NATIONALISTS AREN'T ASHAMED OF DEMANDING WALLS TO BE BUILT AGAINST THESE EXPLOITED MIGRANTS! The #athletes are always the #scapegoats of all the #ideological #fighters of #nationality #principles! The #reality is that any nation will offer one their #nationality, so long as one helps them #win! Why do people blame the #athletes, when in reality #every #nation out there is simply seeking at exploiting the #athletes? #Many nations (you all know yourselves), on the one hand, consider #migrants as the very cause of their problems on the other hand, these same nations, #exploit the very migrants, when it comes to #winning-#medals! The #OlympicGames is #apolitical - truly free from #politics! Let's review the list of the #medalwinners which used to be lead by countries as #China, #Russia, #USA, #UK, #France, #Germany etc. How on earth, can #humans in these very #nations, today be considering #migration as their major #threat to #humanity? No one, though, can stop me from enjoying the #Olympic-#Games as we all are convinced of that motto that "#Being-#There-#Is-#Everything!" #OlympicGames #BeingThereIsEverything
Like Hakeem Olajuwon, like Joel Embiid, the Cameroon-born centre has opted to play for the US at the #Paris2024 Olympics. Nigeria-born centre Hakeem “The Dream” also chose to play for the US at the 1996 Olympics where he won gold. Olajuwon’s naturalisation in 1993 helped him to play for the US despite having appeared for the Nigerian U17 team in 1980. FIBA kicked at the time as one official said that “We cannot have people changing nationalities like trousers.” (Via NYT) Reigning NBA MVP Embiid is part of a star line up that includes Lebron James, Steph Curry, Kawhi Leonard and Kevin Durant as the US hope to turn around their FIBA World Cup defeat to Gold in Paris.

Have football fans seen the last of Cristiano Ronaldo in the Portugal shirt? The team's departure from Euro 2024 at the quarter-final stage has had many wondering if Ronaldo would hang up his boots at the international stage after the tournament. Ronaldo didn't look at his best the entire tournament and even failed to register a single goal or assist before the team's exit. However, a report has claimed that Ronaldo isn't willing to quit international football just yet. In fact, he is determined to play in the 2026 FIFA World Cup and bring the trophy home. Ronaldo had an insipid Euro 2024 campaign that saw him contribute little to the team's goals. Portugal reached the quarter-finals of the tournament, thanks to their goalkeeper Diogo Costa's heroics in the penalty shootout after Ronaldo missed a penalty, putting the team in danger of elimination. Even the quarter-final clash against France saw the team struggle in front of goal, forcing the match into another penalty shootout where Les Bleus emerged triumphant. But, as per a report in Relevo, it isn't all over for Ronaldo just yet. As per the publication, Ronaldo has his eyes on the 2026 FIFA World Cup. In fact, he also wants to become the first player in history to appear and score in six editions of the flagship competition. Game Analysis - FIFA Friendly - Spain 3 vs 3 Brazil Coach D do an informal analysis of the FIFA Friendly Spain 3 vs 3 Brazil at Santiago Bernabeu in Madrid, Spain. Those games are never "friendly"; nobody wants to lose. Spain is preparing for the EURO, and Brazil's new coach, Dorival Jr, is initiating his work to prepare Brazil for the Copa America. Both EURO and Copa America are happening this Summer. Copa America will be here in the USA, and it's an excellent opportunity to watch some great games. As the host country, the USA is also playing, which is uncommon. Brazil and South American countries belong to the CONMBEBOL, and the USA and Mexico belong to the CONCACAF. Spain and Brazil could have done better in the last World Cups. Brazil won the last time in 2002, the 5th WC title and Spain won for the first time in 2010. Today's game could be much better if they had a VAR (Video Assistant Referee). Incredible, but a game of this importance in soccer didn't have VAR, and we had some questionable penalty kicks called from Spain. Watch this video and the game highlight. Please let me know what you think in the comments. Was the Spain Pks correctly called? . . . #FIFA #friendly #Brazil #Spain #4DSoccer #noVAR #notoracism

#ProductivityToday 𝙇𝙄𝙁𝙀 𝙄𝙎 𝘼 𝙇𝙊𝙊𝙊𝙉𝙉𝙂 𝙍𝙐𝙉 Be calming down... What if the person you're doing everything to match has just 3 more years to live before s/he goes to the fathers? What if what you're killing yourself for now is your life's very peak..? So, you'd like to enjoy your peak now and remain way lower afterwards, forever? Are you sure? Think about it! Let me show you an instance of what I mean: In 2007, Toni Kroos won the FIFA U17 World Cup Bronze shoe, finishing third behind Ghana’s Ransford Osei and Nigeria’s Macauley Chrisantus respectively. Toni Kroos 🇩🇪 is set to retire from football after the Euro 2024 tournament. He will retire as a World Cup winner, 5x EUFA Champions League winner, 6x FIFA Club World Cup winner, 4x La Liga winner, 3x Bundesliga winner and a winner of several other trophies. And, another UEFA Champions league final is loading on Saturday, June 1. But Ransford Osei 🇬🇭 played just two games after that U17 World Cup and never reached 1/3 of his potential. The last time I heard of him, he last played for Lithuanian club FK Palanga, I had to google the club to know which corner of the earth they exist in. Remember also, the golden boot winner, our star boy (that year), Macauley Chrisantus 🇳🇬 never ever played for Nigeria senior team. Macauley Chrisantus 🇳🇬 moved to Hamburg and I heard he later played for clubs in Greece, Finland, Turkey, Spain, Saudi Arabia and Iran. This should teach you about the phenomenon called life. I call life a phenomenon because, I mean, how could you explain that a lad who finished 3rd place can overwhelmingly rule in the same game while the winner and the 1st runners-up is no way to be found in just a short span of 17 years? Who knows... the table could turn again in their later years, such that Ransford Osie 🇬🇭 takes his turn and round off life (or something like that) on a higher pedestrian. Now to you, my dear reader, what is life if not patience? What is life if not belief in your abilities and possibilities? What is life? What is life if not celebrating with others without thinking it could have been you, and keeping on grinding and hoping on a better turn of events? What is "turn" even, if it's leading your ultimate doom or untimely wrap-up? Your friend cruises in a Mercedes-Benz GLB 2024 should not be a big deal. It takes just 6 more months from today and the ride will become an old model machine. Whereas, you may be destined for the 2028 model, a far better model. Your classmate may be a commissioner or even a senator today, while you're destined for a governor or president in your 60s. 💡Don't kill yourself before death arrives, rushing to level up with your guys. You'll have it all, if you keep living, if you keep believing and if you keep walking the rope. Life is a loonngg run... Wisdom is a weapon. Thanks for reading.
