Depression is more than just feeling sad—it's a complex condition that touches every part of a person's life. If you want to better understand and support your loved ones dealing with depression, here are six common thoughts they might have, plus how you can help: 1. "I'm a burden to everyone." 🤕They might feel too heavy to lean on others. Remind them regularly how much they mean to you and how valued they are. 2. "Nothing will ever get better." 🕳️Hopelessness is tough. Highlight small positive changes to show that brighter days can come. 3. "I can't do anything right." 📉Self-doubt is a constant struggle. Celebrate their small victories and acknowledge their efforts to boost their confidence. 4. "People would be better off without me." 🚫This thought can isolate them. Show your love and need for them by spending quality time and expressing their impact on your life. 5. "I have no energy for anything." ⚡Depression zaps energy. Encourage them with small, manageable tasks and offer to help with daily chores. 6. "I can't explain why I feel this way." 🤷♂️Depression can be confusing without a clear cause. Just being there to listen without needing to fix things can be incredibly supportive. Understanding these thoughts can help you offer better empathy and support. Your kindness and patience can make a world of difference 💙 If these thoughts resonate with you or someone you know, remember you're not alone – share this post to remind everyone of that. #WellnessTherapy #MentalHealthMatters #DepressionAwareness

Depression is complicated. We don’t know what causes it. We don’t know if it’s one thing or many. We don’t even know whether or when depression is a symptom or a condition in its own right. But, and this is important, we do have a whole load of ways to deal with it, manage, even to use it positively. Whatever you’re experiencing, however long it’s been going on, no matter how intractable your depression might seem, there are things you can do. They may not be easy, they may not be comfortable, but your future self will thank your current self if you take some positive action. And no, I’m not saying I have the answer that’s right for you. But I have lot of experience in managing depression (my own and other people’s) and a lot of understanding that will enable me to either help or to signpost you to someone else. #WorkingThroughDepression #TherapeuticCoaching #CoachingForGrowth #CoachingForChange

One more day and Depression is now becoming like a new spreading virus. In my past experiences, one thing all people experiencing Depression have a common line... 𝐅𝐞𝐞𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠𝐬 𝐨𝐟 𝐰𝐨𝐫𝐭𝐡𝐥𝐞𝐬𝐬𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐨𝐫 𝐠𝐮𝐢𝐥𝐭: Self-Blame, Self-Blame and Self-Blame. 3. 𝐆𝐢𝐯𝐞 𝐔𝐩: You are giving up on your passion, on people, and yourself. Where does depression exhaustion come from? It comes from primarily three places. ❤️ Firstly, our thoughts. We are always ruminating with negative thoughts and self -beliefs. And what if we'd done this in the past, would things be differently? ❤️ That takes a lot of work. If you can imagine concentrating on an exam for a couple of hours, how tired you feel after that, that's number one cause of depression exhaustion. Number two is huge amounts of effort that go into trying to not feel our feelings. ❤️ And unfortunately, our thoughts cause negative feelings and therefore we're always battling negative feelings and emotions. And number three is wearing a mask so we can interact with society while we're experiencing number one and number two. ❤️ So that's like the three parts of depression exhaustion, which is a million times worse than just tiredness. ❤️ #depression #exhaustion #overthinking #trauma #mentalhealth

Depression does have a look. Recognizing depression can be challenging, but there are clues we can pick up on, like the sadness in someone's eyes. While they may say they're "fine" and wear a smile, their eyes might tell a different story. As someone who's had a front row seat in helping navigate the darkness of depression, I understand how crucial it is to pay attention to these subtle signs of depression before it escalates. In my years of experience in business development, I've learned to read people beyond their words. It's about noticing the nuances in their demeanor, especially when it comes to their eyes. When you see that emptiness, that lack of light, it's a signal that something deeper may be going on. A smile can be faked, but you can't hide what the windows to the soul are expressing. Slowing down our interactions and truly observing those around us can make a world of difference. It's about tuning in to those non-verbal cues and being willing to step in when we sense someone might be struggling. This is just the first step in offering support to those battling depression. Stay tuned for further insights on supporting those in need. #mentalheath #health #depression #togetherwecan #mentalhealthawareness

What does depression look like? By now, all of us have understood that depression (or mental illness) is no joke. All over the world, people have started speaking up. A mentally ill person, today, often has the courage to come out of the dark and seek medical attention. But how, exactly, do we, as a society, react to something like that? If it’s someone within our own family, we try our best to suppress the matter, and we go on behaving that all is well. We then try our best to make our own selves believe that nothing really has happened to that relative of ours, and that it is just a phase. We shy away from the fact, fearing how the society will judge us once the word is out. And in this way, we delay and sometimes cancel out any scope of treatment for the sufferer, and thereby aggravate the condition. If it’s someone outside the family, we do just the opposite – we gossip, and we spread misinformation. We try to label the victim as mentally-challenged. Again, some of us even start telling others that it’s probably an excuse, made by the person because he/she isn’t able to compete with the others ‘normally’. Amidst all this, the patient’s condition worsens. Remember, mental illness is often invisible to the naked eye, unlike any physical abnormalities. Therefore, the depressed individual looks absolutely alright from the outside, making all believe that everything’s fine. Often, as history has it, depressed people have been seen to possess a heightened sense of wit and humour. I believe, this is just a reaction to the fact that people aren’t pleased when they present themselves ‘normally’, and that’s why they try their best to please everyone by doing something more than just existing. Absolutely my own view, this one. The whole point that I’m trying to make here is, treat others just the way you want to be treated by others. Many sages and saints have repeated these same words plenty of times. But still, we as a society, often fail to acknowledge this reality. This comes from a sufferer who has been living with it for the last eleven years. A little recognition of the disease and a subsequent “I’m with you in this” goes a long, long way. Trust me, it does. #mentalhealth #mentalillness #depression
