At a property promising perfection, one simple oversight unraveled the entire experience. At the BLLA - Boutique & Luxury Lodging Association Hospitality Webinar, Daniel André Langer shared a story about an unsatisfying hotel stay. The property claimed to be the best, with its extravagant interiors, exquisite architecture, and whispering promise of perfection. But at a luxe price point that is the expected baseline. And yet, this hotel fell short of the essence of luxury: personalization. For Mr. Langer, mornings begin with a ritual: a quiet moment with a cup of decaf coffee. On check-in, his morning staple was missing. He asked once, only to be forgotten. He asked twice, met again with indifference. On the third request, he was handed a sachet of instant. Still not decaf. This series of lapses failed not only his request but also the very promise of luxury itself. Instead of creating a lingering experience, the hotel left him with a memory of: → The missed human connection → The missed anticipation of needs → The missed moment to surprise and delight Knowing your clientele so intimately that delivering their preferences becomes second nature — that’s luxury. And that starts long before they arrive through your client-facing messaging. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗹𝘂𝘅𝘂𝗿𝘆 𝗵𝗼𝘁𝗲𝗹𝘀 𝗮𝗿𝗲 𝗮𝘁 𝟱𝟬% 𝗰𝗮𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗶𝘁𝘆, 𝗯𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗵𝗲𝘆 𝗱𝗼𝗻’𝘁 𝗰𝗮𝗿𝗲. Why? How is this sustainable? Here’s the deal 👇 Filling classic rooms is no longer their goal. The market has changed. Top hotels are now targeting the top 1%—the real spenders who book the larger suites. Over the past decade, prices at 5-star hotels in Paris have skyrocketed. Classic rooms that once cost under $1000 per night now go for a minimum of $2000. The reason? It allows them to sell suites and apartments at better rates. These hotels no longer aim to cater to the typical luxury traveler. They’re after the top 1% who can spend $5k to $10k a night, because why not? 🛩 This trend is confirmed by the emergence of new hotels designed exclusively with larger suites and tailored services for this elite international clientele. Iconic locations like Cheval Blanc and Costes Group in Paris have heavily invested in fewer but much more luxurious rooms. A basic room at one if these hotels now costs $2800. Fewer clients mean bigger rates and a more personalized experience. The industry is changing. It’s all about the experience. --- Do you agree with this shift in the luxury hotel market? Share your thoughts! P.S. Repost this to share the insight ♻️ Thank you!

I just read a wonderful article about what truly defines a “luxury” hotel these days, and it gave me a fresh perspective on how the industry is evolving! The article explores how luxury is no longer just about glitz and glamour. Instead, it’s become more about creating personalized, memorable experiences that leave a lasting impression. I loved how it emphasized that luxury can often be found in small, thoughtful touches—those moments when a hotel surprises you with something you didn’t even know you wanted. Here are a few things that really resonated with me: 1️⃣ The Power of Personalization: True luxury now is about making guests feel special through personalized service. It’s those little surprises, like anticipating a guest’s needs or adding an unexpected touch, that really stand out. 2️⃣ Heritage with a Modern Twist: Iconic hotels like the Ritz are beautifully balancing tradition with modern updates, appealing to both long-time fans and newer guests who want a bit of both worlds. 3️⃣ Beyond Star Ratings: The article suggests that luxury today isn’t just about the highest star rating. It’s about creating meaningful, unforgettable experiences that make guests feel truly cared for. For anyone in hospitality or curious about how luxury hotels are redefining themselves, this is a fantastic read. It’s a great reminder that sometimes the most memorable experiences come from the smallest, most thoughtful details!

In a world full of endless options, how do you create a hotel experience that truly stands out? The answer is innovation, and it's transforming the way we travel. In today’s world, luxury is no longer defined by just comfort or aesthetics - it's about creating truly unforgettable experiences. Modern travellers are looking for something that surprises them, something that feels new and fresh. It's not about following the latest trends, but about setting them. By embracing cutting-edge technology and reimagining classic design, Elegant Hotel Collection is redefining what it means to stay somewhere special. Consider Sunborn London and Sunborn Gibraltar Yacht Hotel Resort, for example. Yachts transformed into luxury accommodations, offering a completely new way to experience luxury. With smart room controls, panoramic views, and seamless service, these floating hotels blend modern technology with the unique charm of life on the water. Then there’s The Bodmin Jail Hotel, where history and innovation intersect. This isn’t just about preserving the past, but about breathing new life into it. By integrating the building’s rich history, the hotel creates a completely unique experience. Innovation isn’t just about gadgets - it’s about creating moments that challenge our expectations, offering guests a glimpse into the future of hospitality. At Eccleston Square Hotel it’s about making each stay an experience that feels not only personalised, but also forward-thinking and unique.
