‼️ Content Warning ‼️ One of Australia's most notorious paedophiles has been sentenced to life in prison after confessing to the child sexual assault of numerous children in daycare centres in Australia and overseas. Former childcare worker Ashley Paul Griffith pleaded guilty in September to more than 300 charges against 69 children in early learning centres in Brisbane and Italy over almost two decades. Judge Paul Smith told the court the offending had a significant impact on the lives of many; "This was very serious, offending in terms of length and scale. The victims were very vulnerable, and there was a significant breach of trust.” https://lnkd.in/gHSUdadi

"‘Horrifying’: Alarm over NSW’s child protection failures" Headlines like this have been in our newspapers regularly, all the way back to the '90's. It's like no one cares to make the necessary changes. We do... Those changes are: • Increase the childcare subsidy to support families and reduce the stresses at home that can lead to poor outcomes for kids. • Better recognise, act upon and therefore prevent, the circumstances that lead to children being forced from their homes and parents. • Radically overhaul the care facilities and carer situation to prevent children who are in the care system being exposed to the sort of traumas and risks they are in today's system. • Increase our capacity to handle the quantity and complexity of cases while improving permanence and stability for kids in long term care. Do you have some thoughts to add? Talk to us. https://lnkd.in/g-j5AGT8

Finding childcare can be a significant source of stress for police officers, impacting their mental well-being. A recent survey conducted by the police union revealed that 21% of officers were contemplating leaving their department due to childcare issues, with 59% reporting instances of leaving or missing work because of childcare problems. As highlighted by Campillo, city employees like police officers and dispatchers often face the challenge of balancing work through the night with caring for their children. The push for funding support from state and federal governments is crucial for ensuring the recruitment and retention of quality peace officers. #ChildcareStress #LEWellness #SupportingOurOfficers #BreakingBarriers #LESMentalHealth #larimarcounseling #larimarcounselingservices #femalecop #therapistforcops #therapistforpolice #traumacounselor #anxietytherapist #newyorktherapist #nytherapist #newyorkmentalhealth#copsofinstagram #lawenforcementofficers #mentalhealthspeaker #upstatenewyork #newyorktherapist

Education is a fundamental right that should be accessible to every girl, regardless of her circumstances. The staggering number of 129 million girls out of school is a stark reminder of the barriers still in place—discrimination, inadequate resources, and, in some cases, child marriage and trafficking. We must act to dismantle these barriers and ensure that every girl has the opportunity to learn and thrive. By advocating for equal access to education and supporting initiatives that address these challenges, we can drive meaningful change. Let’s join forces to empower girls globally. Let’s work towards a dream world where education is not a privilege, but a right for all.

Article 4: Daycare Facilities for Working Mothers Did you know?🤔 In #Libya, employers are required to provide or collaborate on daycare facilities for the children of working mothers in administrative, service, and production sectors where a significant number of mothers are employed. This supports a family-friendly work environment by ensuring childcare at the workplace. Excerpt from the law: "Employers must provide or collaborate on daycare facilities for the children of working mothers in sectors with a significant number of employed mothers." Reference: Article 12, Law No. 12 of 2010 #Libya #LaborLaw #Childcare #WomenInWorkforce #EmployeeBenefits *Disclaimer: While these excerpts highlight key points from the law, business owners have the right to assess requests based on business and operational needs. Her Honour's delivery of the judgment sets out an utterly devastating set of facts. The poor child endured 90 minutes of suffering before passing away. My heart goes out to the parents. The failures were multiple: There is the offender. Should someone like her been employed in childcare in the first place? Her antipathy towards the victim points to a personality unsuitable for the task. But we live in an age of labour shortages and communities not investing in education to bring out the best so we are stuck with the rest. How does a person like that get hired in childcare? What are the entry test criteria? Is there a psychological profile taken? What do childcare centers to do to check the suitability of their employees? Is a police clearance certificate the gold standard? What good are CCTV and monitoring of no one actually checks? Were there no other employees in the center? Where was management? Where were the checks and balances? Ultimately, any legal care requirements are thwarted by the actions of malevolent or indifferent people. All society is left with is the ability to punish the offender. The economic pressures of our age force many parents to work and leave their children with strangers. Often the costs are so high that the benefit of doing that barely produces an upside. In Australia and elsewhere childcare is very lucrative, turning those that understand the system into multi-millionaires at times. It is clear that the scope for abuse for anyone vulnerable on account of age or disability remains high. Children, the elderly and those with severe disabilities often cannot complain which feeds the problem. The parents would be wrecked with grief. My heart goes out to them. #care #law #legal

Vanessa George UK’s worst female daycare paedophile began to find time alone with children at Little Ted’s, sometimes when she changed their nappies. She s*xually assaulted them and used the camera on her mobile phone to record the abuse. Paul Wilson, 21, admitted 47 charges including r*pe and grooming and filmed the r*pe on his mobile phone. The list of convicted daycare paedophiles who used their phones to record abhorrent acts…. goes on and on. ‘Some’ basic questions to ask daycares & some steps to keep kids safe & secure in daycare centres. *Safeguarding policy: Ask to see it & look for what policies they have to combat child sexual abuse (CSA). *Rule 101 - Make sure they have a no phone policy (IT IS A MUST) for staff & visitors. Ask how they enforce the banning of phones/devices with camera features. *Pick up & drop off policy? How are their security protocols on this. Do they have names of authorised persons you pick who can pick up your child? *Staffing: What is the ratio of adults per children in each room? Is there a 2 staff rule? Must have a 2 staff policy. *What are the credentials one must have to work there? *What other staff work at the centre besides the child minders? Eg: Maintenance staff etc. *What happens when a staff member is out due to illness or time off? *Are there CCTV cameras throughout (inside all rooms including toilet, change rooms and outside) the centre? There must be no hidden areas/blind spots. These are basic Q’s that you can start with. If the management gives you a hard time or makes you feel bad for asking, it’s a red flag 🚩 Don’t be afraid to ask questions. These are your kids, not the daycare’s kids. Don’t be afraid to request specific things that worry or concerns you eg: nappy change policy must be 2 staff rule.... Request 2 staff (not 1) must be present while nappy is being changed. Don’t be scared to test the daycare on pick up policy. Remember, you must also physically check your child after each day for any bruising or bleeding especially around the underwear and genitalia areas. If you see something immediately report it to the daycare and seek medical attention immediately. https://lnkd.in/eTZUtUn #projectrescuechildren
