Happy to share that my doctoral dissertation "Equity in Kindergarten Readiness: The Effects of Direct Instruction Literacy Curriculum in Gentrified Urban Preschools" is now available on ProQuest! https://bitly.ws/3gNyP This research focuses on ways preschoolers gain letter knowledge before entering Kindergarten, i.e., learning through play or via direct instruction. This work sheds light on the crucial role that early childhood education plays in promoting equitable literacy practices. Check out my dissertation on ProQuest to learn more about my findings. #earlychildhoodeducation #kindergartenreadiness #educationresearch #equity

Is there an ideal minimum age for private 1:1 tuition to begin? The honest answer is, no! ○○○ 🧑🧒 Early academic intervention for preschoolers is often stigmatised, but it plays a crucial role in setting children up for success in school and beyond. 💫 It is not about pushing your child into formal education before they are ready; rather, it's about providing targeted support and enrichment to ensure that your child have the opportunity to reach their full potential. 💫 It is not a one-size-fits-all approach; it is tailored to meet the individual needs of each child. 💫 Early intervention is about meeting your child where they are and providing them with the scaffolding they need to succeed. 💡Research consistently shows that early childhood education has a significant impact on children's cognitive, social, and emotional development, with lasting benefits that extend into adulthood. 📲 If you think that your child could benefit with support from me, please get in touch! 📩 Lotti.empowermenteducation@gmail.com #tutor #progress #loveforlearning #lovelearning #earlychildhood #earlychildhoodintervention #learningjourney #tutorlife #progresssinlearning #targetedsupport #cognitivedevelopment #socialdevelolment #emotionaldevelopment https://lnkd.in/e4x6GKjg

Guilty or not! Why are we still prioritizing specific skills like writing and math at the expense of developing a child's core areas? The truth is, that both teachers and parents are guilty of this. We push children to write and solve math problems while their fundamental socio-emotional, cognitive, physical, and language skills are still in the early stages of development. Without, a strong foundation in these prime areas, academic success becomes much harder to achieve. It's time we shift our focus and ensure children's core areas are nurtured first, for long-term growth and learning. Do you agree? #coreareas #teaching #earlychildhood

What do kindergarten teachers say makes a young child really ready to start school? It’s not necessarily knowing their ABCs. It’s social-emotional skills like getting along with peers, self-regulation and being able to follow instructions. Early Childhood Learning 🌟 The early childhood years are crucial as children rapidly shift from dependence to independence. Parents play a key role in informal teaching, guiding children to notice their surroundings, label objects, and learn social skills, self-help skills, and early academic concepts. However, children with learning troubles often struggle with these seemingly natural skills due to difficulties in processing information. Despite this, they may excel in other areas, showing uneven development patterns in places such as listening, language, and motor skills. Their unique profiles make their learning and behavior less predictable. ✏️ For more information, check out our blog: https://zurl.co/eE3g #LearningDifficulties #ChildDevelopment #ParentingTips #UnderstandingKids #InclusiveEducation #SupportAndEmpower #LearningJourney #LearningisFun #TheBlog
