As my journey at IIT Delhi ends, I'm grateful for the invaluable lessons that have shaped me, and reflecting on this beautiful chapter, here are some key learnings that I was fortunate enough to gather: •“Balancing Academics”: After admission into IIT, most students tend to relax while trying to adjust to the newfound campus life, and in the meanwhile the most essential aspect of IIT drifts away. Academics take a back seat while fun becomes a priority, but it is better to realize sooner that CGPA plays a more important role than we believe it does. •“The more, the better delusion”: Yes, I am talking about PoRs. A smart senior saved me from this never-ending loop at IIT-D, where you are invested in getting into as many clubs as possible to fill up your CVs with POR points. It is better to join the clubs you are passionate about and work diligently to grab top spots than to be in multiple clubs and work in none. •“Prioritize what is important”: College is a sea of opportunities, and you can’t grab all of them, so it is better to prioritize what matters to you the most, which is subjective and can vary from person to person. I have seen 7-pointers with better placements than 9-pointers, and what they did better was to prioritize what they were good at. •“Being introverted might hurt”: The best thing college offers is the personality development course where you don’t have to stress about scoring well. All you must do is be open to new experiences and leave your introverted self behind. •“Stay Positive”: Not all experiences will be good, and some might be worse than what you can imagine, but then again, you are not alone in this. Stay optimistic. If things don’t turn out how you expected them to be, something better might be waiting around the corner. Thank You! PS- “While these are my personal learnings, I recognize that everyone's journey is unique. Your views and key takeaways may differ. Feel free to share in the comments below!" #learnings #college #iit

I am waiting for my turn to share such valuable learning ❤️ But I have a question Your one point says that CGPA plays a crucial role but in other point you said that don't be an introvert rather open up for new experiences In our jee phase we all study outdated things and now iit curriculum most of the student are CGPA oriented so how can they open up for new experiences infact what they did in there 10+2 ...... They are just continuing such behaviour where is new experiences? I talk to some of the top 1% in the market from IIT Delhi and what they said about CGPA is quite different and in a way CORRECT They said CGPA is the way to do things when you don't know where to go or in simple words when you don't know what to do ,it's better to have a good CGPA but if you know what you want to achieve CGPA doesn't matter. Inshort "You can have a bad CGPA if you have a Dream" But the so called "Good Senior" or "Smart Senior" of our college tend to give same CGPA path to every fresher and just block the scope of new experiences I just find your two point colliding btw well said 😁 I hope you will find it useful or might add something new to your knowledge Thank you ❤️

Chinmya Gupta Thanks for sharing these insights! Wrapping up my first year at IIT Kharagpur, I can totally relate. Balancing academics and campus life has been a challenge, and I’m learning the importance of prioritizing what truly matters. Your point about not spreading yourself too thin with clubs and  Staying positive through the ups and downs is something I'll keep in mind. Hopefully looking forward to an even better second year ahead! 🤞
