Struggling to build genuine connections without feeling pushy? I’ve been there, too. When I started out, I knew my content needed to connect deeply, but I kept feeling like I was either too “salesy” or not engaging enough. Here’s what finally worked for me, and it could work for you, too: 1️⃣ Be Transparent with Your Story: I realized sharing honest experiences—not just successes but also my struggles—allowed people to see me for who I am. When I stopped hiding my learning curve, connections grew naturally. 2️⃣ Listen and Respond Thoughtfully: At first, I was focused on pushing out content. But when I took the time to listen to comments and respond genuinely, I built a community. Your audience wants to be heard just as much as you do. 3️⃣ Give More Than You Take: Instead of promoting myself constantly, I shifted to providing actionable advice. The funny thing? The more value I gave, the stronger my audience connections became—and they started reaching out for my services. Building connections isn’t just about showing up; it’s about showing up as yourself. Why Should You Use LinkedIn to Engage and Strengthen Old Ties? LinkedIn is a powerful tool to reconnect with people you have studied, worked, or are currently working with. It helps you build professional networks and interact easily. To make the most of it, create a strong profile. Share who you are, what you do, and how you help others. Add your portfolio and testimonials. This gives people a clear idea about you. Create content that focuses on your experiences. Share how you helped someone grow their business or achieve their goals. Highlight the value you bring to others. This can encourage old classmates, colleagues, or business contacts to reconnect with you. Engage with their posts, comment, and share meaningful insights. Show them you are active and approachable. LinkedIn makes it easy to revive old connections. With a little effort, you can rebuild relationships that add value to your personal and professional life.

Why has modern life robbed us of an opportunity to genuinely believe in ourselves? I think social media has contributed to that. We live in a world where everyone is comparing themselves to others - even though everyone is on a different journey and path. Modern life is fast paced and sometimes seems unrelenting for how much keeping up you need to do just to stay ahead. This is the reason I am focusing on the concept of Self-Reliance. Slow down, build your skills, invest in yourself and work on what you value the most and care about - not what others value. If you leverage your self-confidence by truly believing in yourself and tell yourself positive things (as opposed to negative self-talk); and know that you are worthy of the value you bring to others - you will trust yourself to rely on yourself more. How can you expect someone else to believe in you, if you don’t believe in yourself? I really believe that it's that simple - we usually wait for permission from others when in fact it's already within us. --- If you like this post: 1. Ghosting connections 👻 (Especially those who’ve gone out of their way to add value) 5. Casting a chilling silence 🕯️ (Not engaging or acknowledging others’ efforts, commenting) Instead, build trust by: 1. Unmasking your true self 🎭 (Being authentic is a real treat and a competitive advantage!) 2. Casting spells that solve problems ✨ (Show how you tackle your ICP’s challenges) 3. Being a kind ghoul 🧙 (Kindness goes a long way in a world of tricks) 4. Giving out more treats than you take 🍬 (Generosity builds connections) 5.
