Hi there. Hello. It's Christian here and I'm in the Gene Lingus studio in central London. And following on from the conversations we've been having in regards to converged networks, we're really lucky to have Michael Parker from the utility with us today. Michael, welcome. Thank you. Christian, you guys are a bit of a rocket ship at the moment. Why why do you think that is? Certainly feels like we're strapped to the side of a rocket at the moment. I I think yeah, I mean the. I think the market is has come to us now. It's ready for us. I think the explosion of, you know, expedited deployments, mass deployments of video hardware and all of these meeting rooms around the world, if there's a lot more kits out there that needs to be controlled and managed now. So the markets ready for us. Yeah, I think you're right. Certainly the conversation that we've been having on that conversion network, people are actually really starting to think about what's going on to their network. And how to structure that in regards to AV and intelligent environments, you know what, what do you see as the, the, the challenges or the task not necessarily challenges. What do you see as the things that organizations need to consider when there are looking to deploy ufology as a solution? Yeah, I mean, there's probably 3 quick points. Security is always gonna be the big one. You know, you're, we're, we're a cloud based piece of software. So we have to prove the security and we have to build that confidence, you know, which we do in a number of ways by understanding the customers security posture. And then we go through a process with them to, to basically prove the confidence. But we've got some of the world's biggest organizations in the enterprise using as we've got governmental organizations. So we can do it. Yeah, but that's one of the challenges that they see first. Yeah, for us to overcome other challenges is, is is readiness. You know, for for utility to provide value, we need to speak to everything in the room. You know, the more data points the better. And, and in some instances customers still aren't putting stuff on the network. And you know, why have I not got my displays on the network? Well, until now, until you theology, I haven't had a need to put stuff on on the network. There's a cost associated to that, so sometimes. We find we go through the sales process with an organization, there are 100% seeing the value of why they need a better view, a window into their world. But there are remediation works that need to take place in some of the rooms. The more stuff that goes on the network, the more data points, but they see that the cost benefit is there. It just takes a bit of time. So do you. Do you see, as I do that organisations, they take a lot of responsibility around the their IT network and their IT infrastructure. And you know, a lot of organisations will spend the time to test, configure. They have IT departments, you know, that are, you know, expansive obviously, than bringing in others to, to, to, to deliver those services for them. It's not necessarily the same with AV in my experience. Some will have, but do you see that readiness? Yeah, that understanding of Ava's intelligent environments, those the need to, to have the same sorts of processes in place. Umm, yeah, we, we are definitely seeing a lot more of the, you know, the, the, the ITIL frameworks, the IT processes that come from the IT world, you know, coming into the AV space. But it does go back to that previous point, you know, when you've got a bunch of devices that are not necessarily seen as secure, then you need to put them on us. Separate network, right. So, you know, as the security improves which it which it has done, you know, the UC markets really driving that you know, it's really you know, the, the, the almost the conduit between the AV and the IT world is, is as I see as the UC, but in the middle. So, yeah, no, I think I've been taking responsibility, the IT teams taking responsibility for that specification or assessment of those products before they they deploy them. All I see is really important as part of that, that, you know, conversion network because as you you say it's these devices are coming onto the network. Now there's a requirement to put them on there, but it's really easy not to put them on because if you haven't done that testing piece. Yeah, I think there's, there's definitely a piece of work to do in a number of organisations that we talk to where we're at the beginning of the journey for them to understand the readiness. And, you know, we have lots of documentation around deployment readiness guides, things like that to, you know, once we've done a discovery session to show them what we're about and what value we can bring. You know, what changes are you going to have to make your side to, to really make this fly, First of all to receive the platform, but then to really make it fly. And there are other nuances to that as well. Christian, like no, sometimes. Things like network Pdus, power Pdus in in a room, it can be looked at an additional cost, yeah, or it can be looked at actually a real cost benefit because yes, you've gotta build it into the design and buy it another piece of hardware. But the flexibility that it gives you to control power usage, reboot devices on an individual socket basis, yeah, You know we can prove that there are huge financial and time benefits. Yeah, to that. So it's it's about changing the mindset within. Within the community and I, I, I really agree with you about the, the showing the benefits of those. And I think that part of that is in regards to the support as well as, you know, I don't know what your thoughts are, but, you know, AV support has often not had the thought process behind it that IT support has had. Yeah, where we've had, you know, if I've got a problem with my computer in front of party support, they will take control of my laptop. So we can do that with a V And obviously that's part of what your system can do. You can seize issues happening. You can, you know. See where they're, they, they, they are and you can repair them remotely or you can at least understand and move things around. So that understanding of your support workflow and support process for AV and intelligent environments is, is obviously key to what you guys are doing. Yeah, it's absolutely a key selling point to the to the platform, You know, the AV world, you know, some poor user goes into a room and has a nightmare, flags the problem, someone comes to fix it, usually a human maybe arriving. By vehicle after a period of time and it gets fixed at some point, yeah, it might be within 4 hours, it might be within a day, it might be two days. But the users still had the problem. Yeah. So at the core of what we're doing is, you know, changing the paradigm of the way AV devices are supported from that reactive as we've just described, yeah, to a proactive sense. You know, if we're talking to these devices every few seconds across the network, we know how that device should be configured the minute that it steps out of compliance. The configuration as in there's going to be an issue for someone when they go into the room yeah well that's automatically change it back we call it self healing. No, you know and then we record it as well that's the important thing record all your problems even if you fix that you've got all those stats and then you can see in develop that into the IT is a cultural problem is it a training problem with the users or do we have technology problems you know is it something we need to share with the suppliers with the vendors to say actually we keep seeing this problem on our network test systems out as well to actually, you know before you deploy those solutions yeah and you find there's. An issue with them before you actually deliver your all your AV systems absolutely look Michael, there's an awful lot to unpack there. I hope you know yes you listening to us have enjoyed hearing some of those great points from from Michael and if you're interested in delivering and deploying the utility solution do reach out to Michael and the team. I've seen it work really really well it's a very very useful solution and if you are interested in. Addressing some of those challenges and those process pieces within your organisation. Please reach out to me. I'll be very happy to help you. And again, thank you, Michael for, for coming along and joining us in the Dillinger studio today. No, look, thank you, Christian, for the time in the studio today. It's been wonderful to, to, to come and, you know, see the technology and, and I definitely think there's use cases within our organisation for it. I love the simplicity. But thanks for sitting down and having a chat as well. Then, you know, let's see what these guys think. Yeah. If there are any questions or challenges that they've got they'd like to address in another video, then we're very happy to do that. That'd be brilliant. Brilliant. Wonderful. Thanks again, Michael. Great. Thanks all. Thank you for watching. Bye, bye.

Friday Tip for #RTC360 & #Register360 Users:
I have in the past been asked: "Should we use high tilt accuracy scans for every setup or just specific ones?"
Great news—you can now turn it on and leave it on! Reg360 now lets you toggle the "Level condition" off for individual setups. This means you can test different methods on a case-by-case basis to achieve optimal registration results.
If you're working with an RTC360 & Reg360 and this sounds unfamiliar, feel free to message me. Understanding registration is crucial, and I’m happy to help!
