My trendspotting: office cubicles are making a comeback! 🚀 We've gone from private office rooms --> to cubicles --> to activity-based work spaces. And now --> back to cubicles! Why is this? I believe we're dreaming of having private office rooms (at least for parts of the day) but that is too expensive, too many wasted square meters. Cubicles, my friends, are as good as it gets to imitating a private office room when we need to focus and get things done. In my latest interior design projects, I noticed that many actually prefer the work desks that are surrounded by tall floor screens, since they offer a calm & focused spot with minimal distractions. Sure, the work desks are an upbeat version of the 1980s cubicle – but they’re still cubicles! While not every office needs to be filled with uniform cubicles, for focused zones, they work brilliantly. If you haven’t tried proper work cubicles yet, give them a go – you might be surprised at how productive you’ll be. And for those of you still holding onto your 1980s cubicles – congratulations, you’re back in style! 🕺 #trendscomeandgo #officedesign
