Heavy fog presents challenges for observing and identifying distant targets, including people, vehicles, vessels, and drones. This creates an opportunity for illegal intruders to exploit the reduced visibility and engage in activities like smuggling, illegal immigration, and unauthorized entry, posing a greater risk to border security. Optical fog transmission technology, specifically near-infrared cameras, can overcome these challenges by utilizing special filter coatings and image enhancement techniques. Compared to visible light imaging, these cameras can increase the observation distance by 1.7 times, allowing for better visibility and target recognition in foggy conditions. Alternatively, shortwave infrared cameras equipped with indium gallium arsenide sensors can operate within the 1.0um~1.7um wavelength range. These cameras offer even greater defog transmission capabilities, up to two times more effective than optical fog cameras.
