Last week, the second part of the “EY Journey to the Boardroom Program” took place in Munich. This time, the focus of the two days was on the talent agenda. Both days were packed with exciting presentations and encounters. Special thanks go to our speakers: Victoria Tomlinson FRSA from Next-Up, who introduced us to the world of Effective Networking; Rolf Beckers from Spencer Stuart, who provided highly valuable insights into the world of board placements; Markus Heinen, who spoke passionately on the topic "Humans@Center as a Differentiator"; Special thanks go to Carla Kriwet, who shared a lot of very fruitful thought and hands on advice from her personal journey to the board and Georg Graf Waldersee, who shared valuable experiences from his vast board experiences. Of course, we ended the day with a hearty Bavarian dinner and used the evening for networking and discussions about the topics previously addressed. The second day began with an intense and interactive presentation by Victoria Tomlinson FRSA on the topic of personal brand building, followed by Dr. Anja Pissarczyk's presentation on "Personnel Competence – Supervisory Board,". The prominent topic of executive compensation could not be missed – many thanks to Jens Massmann for the enriching presentation and valuable insights. The day ended with a visit to the #EYFourFutures installation at the Munich #EYWavespace. The confrontation with four visions of our future world not only moved us and prompted us to think and act but also prepared us for our next Stop in January, where the main topics will be dealing with ESG, sustainability, and current geopolitical changes. I am already looking very much forward to it! Matters covered in the EY Journey to the Board Program, are career development and the hot topics of today’s board agenda including latest developments in #CorporateGovernance, #Sustainability, #Transformation, #ArtificialIntelligence, #Digitalization, #HumanResource, #SuccessionPlanning, #Geopolitics and #Strategy

❗ OC&C Strategy Consultants strengthen their German Market Presence with the return of 7 Partners OC&C has just announced the appointment of 7 new Partners at their newly opened office in Düsseldorf, which will complement their Munich office established back in 2018. This move highlights OC&C's growing presence in Germany and their vision to establish a deeper industry scope in the DACH region. Interestingly, these new Partners—Dr. Andreas Enders, Andreas Teller, Chehab Wahby, Hendrik Walter, Dr. Jörg Schäfer, Ludwig Voll, and Rolf Pensky—are making a return to OC&C. They left in 2018 when EY-Parthenon acquired OC&C’s German office, and are now coming back after a hugely successful year for the firm, which saw double-digit growth and full team utilization in many of their global offices. This follows another notable return—the former OC&C team in the Netherlands rejoined from EY-Parthenon at the end of 2021, marking a trend of top talent reuniting with the firm. It’s exciting to see OC&C’s momentum continue to build as they grow their global footprint. I am curious at how this move will position the firm in the region, as well as how they seek to re-build their middle layers in the office with the influx of Partners joining the fold - the DACH market has always been challenging with regards to strategy consulting experienced hiring, so keen to see how their talent strategy aims to tackle a tricky landscape. #Consulting #Leadership #Growth #Strategy #BusinessExpansion #Talent

⚓ **Moin from Hamburg - EY Germany’s All Staff Event 2024** Networking and connecting with my colleagues from various service lines is always an enriching experience for me, especially when it is in one of my favorite cities! Events like these provide a great opportunity to discuss market trends, innovations, and the evolving landscape of our industry. Inspired by panels and guest speakers, let me share some questions my colleagues and I are currently reflecting: ▶ Transformation realized: Transformation is the interplay of people, innovation, and technology to create a better functioning world 👉 Where does employee centricity meet the future of work? 👉 Where does innovation meet the new "S-curve" of growth? ♻ Long-term & sustainable growth: Digital transformation remains at the heart of many transformation movements. At the same time, sustainability is becoming a necessity for every company 👉 Why should digitalization and sustainability be addressed together? 👉 What synergies need to be unlocked? 😎 Talent development: Diversity is our strength for building high-performing teams 👉 How does diversity affect teamwork? But at the end of the day, it all comes down to one point and reminds me of the power of collaboration. "Together, we can drive forward-thinking solutions and shape the future of consulting - #betterworkingworld"🌍. 🚨 Stay tuned for deeper insights, as my colleague Florian Kaltenberger shares his personal experience about these two days. I've got bad news. That belief you’re holding onto—that only high-paid consulting firms hoard all the talent? It doesn't hold water. It's simply a misconception that discounts the incredible value and innovation that's flourishing beyond the towering walls of high-fee structures. The refreshing truth is talent is everywhere—across industries, continents, and varying market players. Once you broaden your perspective, you'll realize that experience teaches you invaluable lessons that no price tag can capture. So should you overlook those firms with a lower price point? Of course not. Exploring diverse consultancies is magnificent. Take, for instance, Tandem Consulting Group, where you'll find some of the most talented individuals eager to collaborate, innovate, and unlock transformative opportunities, irrespective of their fee structure. Let's redefine how we perceive talent and recognize it's not just about the dollars, but about the brilliant minds dedicated to driving change #TalentInnovators #ConsultingInsights #DiverseConsulting #ValueInExperience #BroadenYourPerspective #UnlockOpportunities #InnovationEverywhere #ChangeMakers #RedefineTalent #Tandemconsultinggroup #TCG

It's fascinating how the paths of creativity and corporate evolution intertwine. Back in 2005, when RSM UK was known as Baker Tilly, I was producing conferences for (amongst others) the Corporate Finance faculty where a certain M&A specialist had a reputation for creating presentation decks that broke every brand guideline in the book! But they were brilliant… so we let it slide. That same "presentation rebel" is now RSM UK's CEO, Rob Donaldson, who now very much champions strong brand identity while still pushing creative boundaries. He calls it getting the "packaging" right - and the transformation has been remarkable to witness. What began with Baker Tilly's evolution into RSM UK nearly a decade ago sparked a journey of continuous innovation. I've watched the firm's progression from traditional service structuring to channel specialisms supported by industry-and economic insights. Throughout this evolution, corporate events have undergone their own transformation. While traditional conferences have remained important, they're now enhanced by newer, innovative formats like the RSeMies awards and RSM Week - both delivering impact through Teams livestreams to vast audiences across the country. As an independent producer, I've had to navigate these changes differently than those within the corporate structure. There's no internal promotion path when you're a one-person production team. Instead, growth comes from constantly pushing creative boundaries, from earning trust through reliability, and from turning "what if we tried..." into "remember when we..." The greatest reward? Being trusted to experiment, to push boundaries, and to keep finding new ways to deliver impact - whether it's for 150 people in a conference room or thousands across a livestream. Let's toast those who give us the freedom to innovate, who trust us to evolve alongside them, and who understand that the best creative partnerships aren't about hierarchy - they're about mutual trust and shared ambition for excellence. #EventProduction #CreativeProducer #CorporateEvents #Innovation #RSMUK #LiveStreaming #CreativeDirection #brandpower #deliveringexcellence #thinkingsmart

🚀 One month at Oliver Wyman: My journey so far As I reflect on my first month at Oliver Wyman I am compelled to share some observations. What follows is purely my personal view. Unveiling Oliver Wyman: During my early interviews in 2023, I heard people say, “Oliver Wyman is not just any consulting firm.” Skepticism crept in. But what I have witnessed so far is a real powerhouse that seamlessly blends industry expertise with strategic finesse. It’s entrepreneurial, with fewer formalities – a very refreshing approach that resonates with me. #SupplyChain and #Procurement specifics: Given my background I was curious about Oliver Wyman’s capabilities in this space. Let me tell you, I am beyond excited. I have seen so many of my colleagues here driving prestigious, top-notch projects, mainly being part of large-scale performance transformations - it is in OWs DNA. And I am right in the middle of it with my mission to further grow the already robust Procurement consulting practice. If you know me, you know that is where my passion lies and what I love to do. My onboarding starts with an #adventure in the great outdoors. Picture this: gathering nettles in the heavily pouring rain to cook pesto for a team that is sitting around the campfire. Later listening to the real crazy in-house OW band rock out until 3 a.m. – that was an extremely cool event! Hats off to Judith Joseph and Franziska Marks for making my onboarding experience seamless. I have met with so many colleagues from diverse industries and functions. The learning curve? Steep, but really rewarding. My guiding lights: Dr. Michael Lierow, Xavier Nouguès ★ Oliver Wyman, Gilles Roucolle, Dr. Sebastian Janssen, Jens Torchalla, Cornelius Herzog and many more – my mentors and buddies. They have welcomed me into their fold, ensuring I hit the ground running. 🙏 Proudly part of Oliver Wyman, I cannot wait to share more - stay tuned! 💡 #oliverwyman #consulting #strategy #transformation #performance #leadership #entrepreneurship

3 Learnings from a McKinsey Offer in Sweden 🥉We only had ~3 weeks but with 𝐝𝐞𝐝𝐢𝐜𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧, 𝐫𝐞𝐬𝐢𝐥𝐢𝐞𝐧𝐜𝐞, 𝐬𝐭𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐞𝐠𝐲, 𝐚𝐧𝐝 𝐬𝐞𝐧𝐢𝐨𝐫 𝐜𝐚𝐥𝐢𝐛𝐫𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐨𝐧 this can be enough. 🥉 𝐍𝐨 𝐈𝐒𝐎𝐋𝐀𝐓𝐄𝐃 𝐃𝐑𝐈𝐋𝐋𝐒, they do not help to get to a well-rounded profile (cases are not solved in isolation, so this rarely helpful). 🥉 𝐏𝐫𝐚𝐜𝐭𝐢𝐜𝐞 𝐢𝐧 𝐚 𝐬𝐲𝐬𝐭𝐞𝐦𝐚𝐭𝐢𝐜 𝐰𝐚𝐲 (know WHAT to practice and make sure with whom you practice - as this person needs to have the same theoretical backbone as you are using). Directors Australia was delighted to partner with Deloitte in Melbourne on the important topic of #boardrooms of the future. Our CEO Kerryn Newton and Board Recruitment Specialist Brad Booth shared their insights on the contemporary operating context for boards and how that impacts board composition with an impressive group of executives. Jo Mikleus gave some very practical insights on the transition from executive to board roles, and Tharani Jegatheeswaran and Ian Trevorah expertly brought us all together as hosts and moderators. Some key messages 🔹 Boards need to be comprised of directors with the right skills, experience and diversity to guide and drive strategy and effectively govern their organisation 🔹 As the strategic environment in which organisations operate rapidly change, board composition also needs to change 🔹 There are increasing non-executive director opportunities for people with digital, sustainability, customer, AI and customer-facing skills #boardsofdirectors #governingforperformance #nonexecutive
