#ImmigrationAlert Holiday Travel for Foreign Nationals Foreign nationals looking to travel abroad during this holiday season should confirm prior to traveling that all their documents are in order for reentry into the United States. All travelers must have a valid passport. Certain foreign nationals, such as those with pending adjustment of status applications, must obtain advanced parole before traveling. Some pending I-539 applications, such as those requesting change of status, do not allow for travel. Individuals with a pending Form I-539 application may see their application denied if they travel. Individuals traveling under a specific program, such as the Visa Waiver program, must comply with additional requirements. This may include registering in their electronic system.
