The Independent International Fact-Finding Mission for the Sudan🇸🇩 issued its report today. It's a grim list of crimes committed by both the SAF and RSF. Among other things, it calls for the deployment of a force to protect civilians: “Given the failure of the parties to protect civilians so far, the Fact-Finding Mission recommends the deployment of an independent and impartial force with a mandate to protect civilians in Sudan.“ para.113(b) https://lnkd.in/e_egucPm

The Constitution of the Federal Republic of Nigeria 1999 (as amended) established the Armed Forces for Nigeria, it equally gave it a separate judicial system to enable it sustain its unique nature for efficient performance of its unique role. For avoidance of doubt, the Attorney General of the Federation can interfere with the proceedings of any other court in Nigeria but not with that of a Court-martial, see section 174 (1) (a) CFRN 1999 (as amended) which provides as follows: “The Attorney-General of the Federation shall have power- a) to institute and undertake criminal proceedings against any person before any court of law in Nigeria, other than a court-martial, in respect of any offence created by or under any Act of the National Assembly”.
