My dear LinkedIn Family, We often discuss the challenges that Pakistan faces, especially in trade, the economy, and the public sector. But today, let’s take a moment to celebrate a success story in these areas; one that is making us proud and placing Pakistan on the global stage. I’m talking about the Pakistan Single Window (PSW), a true example of how a clear vision, dedication, collaboration, and focused efforts can turn ambitious goals into reality. Some of you might not be familiar with PSW, so rather than diving into the details, I encourage you to watch the video by Mr. Aftab Haider, the CEO of PSW—he explains it perfectly. Single Window implementation in Pakistan is more than just a success; it’s a compelling story of overcoming challenges through effective communication, coordination, dedication, robust project management, and, most importantly, a shared vision. Let’s take pride in this remarkable achievement and continue to support initiatives that highlight the best of what Pakistan can achieve.
There are many heroes in the Pakistan Single Window (PSW) story and one of them is not an individual but a donor funded project-the Pakistan Regional Economic Integration Activty (PREIA) funded by the USAID and implemented by DAI. It was PREIA that provided the initial technical and financial support for single window implementation in Pakistan and helped develop significant components including the Tradeverse, the integrated risk management system, and the about to be launched Portverse. As the curtain came down on PREIA after 9 productive years I sat down with the VCast media team contracted by PREIA to talk about PSW and its different facets. One of my favourite ones is on “winning over skeptics”-an often overlooked part of single window implementation. If you can bear with my face talking to you for 12 minutes on the screen, I promise you several key insights and maybe a cup of coffee sometimes somewhere! https://lnkd.in/dUjVEq5a The full set of videos on PREIA’s excellent contribution on different activities can be accessed at https://lnkd.in/dUCPW_ns. The entire credit for this work goes to USAID-PREIA executed by VCast. #crossbordertrade #tradefacilitation #changemanagement #singlewindow #digitaltransformation Arsalan Ali F. Hussan Bano Burki

One must read the #public life of Shri M. This will help you to easily draw #conclusions from the recent #allegations against the #market regulator and the head of the #institution.

MoUs: Memorandums of Uncommitment They serve no purpose beyond press releases and silly optics that nobody buys anymore. If anything, an MoU is a sign of clear failure that the investor you are trying to woo is either not interested, or worse takes a pity on you through an MoU. The good way to predict the outcome of these latest 27 MoU's would be to check what happened to those 500 previous MoU's worth $100 billion. There is no escaping the fact that for as long as Pakistan’s leadership continues its dishonest approach towards every aspect of governance and policy, there can be no good outcome.
