On March 22, Charles Choyce, Que-Anh Pham, and Anton Sibrin will present "Proper and Effective Uses of Recovery Schedules on Construction Projects" at the AACE International Region 2 Northeast Symposium. This session will explore the steps that should be taken to minimize the risk associated with a demand for a recovery schedule, how a contractor should respond to such a demand, how to approach acceleration and schedule development, what to include (and not include) in a recovery schedule, and who pays for the acceleration costs to meet a recovery schedule. #aacenesymposium2024 #construction

It was a brilliant and informative day at the Structural Timber Conference. I was delighted to be on the Circular Economy panel so I could say #demolitionisadirtyword once again 😄 (albeit I don't know if I said that exactly) Barriers to structural timber highlighted from the case study speakers that we need to blast through: • Fire nervousness (especially with multistorey) • For one off housing clients it is the damaging history of poorly performing 60/70s housing with moisture issues • Perception of difficulty in relation to fire insurance etc. • Commerciality/ perception of high costs The way we succeed: • Share learnings/case studies • Design for timber from inception • Recognise that timber isn't suitable in every instance ie.flat roofs, spaces with high humidity. • By bringing the wider supply chain in earlier (subcontractors, insurers and fire engineers) Side note: best conference food I have ever had! Shout out for the caterers!

This was a great event to be part of. Andreas Leed and I previewed the upcoming book, How to Measure Anything in Project Management for a very engaged audience. We took full advantage of meeting key attendees to review our ideas with and get early feedback.
