𝗕𝗶𝗼𝗿𝗲𝗳𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗿𝘆 𝗖𝗼𝘂𝗿𝘀𝗲: 𝗘𝗾𝘂𝗶𝗽𝗽𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗳𝘂𝘁𝘂𝗿𝗲 𝗲𝗻𝗴𝗶𝗻𝗲𝗲𝗿𝘀 How can engineers who were trained in a different era develop the advanced skills necessary to lead the energy and materials transition? ⚙️ ISPT and the Netherlands Process Technology Association (NPT) are excited to introduce a series of specialized courses that are necessary to train chemical engineers in transition technology. The first in this series – tailored for post-master chemical engineers – focuses on #biorefining and is offered in collaboration with @Technische Universiteit Eindhoven (TU/e). This event is scheduled for 4pm today. With the advent of AI, disruptions are expected in the work place. While the quality of life may improve with AI, low end white collar jobs will also vanish. This could especially affect (chemical) and other engineers who currently work in the IT sector doing repetitive type of work. In view of this, it is important to produce better quality engineers who are good and confident in their core areas, which can also result in strengthening of the core sectors. For engineers, modelling and simulation is an area that is at the interface of their core sector and IT, and it could be a safe bet against the expected disruptions. Our group focuses on fascinating research areas like interfaces, sensors, and luminescence. Here are some of the projects the group is working on: - Studying liquid/liquid interfaces and ionic liquids in nanoconfined systems. - Exploring self-excited chemiluminescence and photodynamic therapy. - Innovating electrodeposition of metals and alloys and creating metal nanowires from ionic liquids. - Developing molecular recognition processes through molecular imprinting. - Creating photo- and electrochromic systems for chemical sensing. - Conducting computer simulations on ILs, deep eutectic solvents (DES), molecularly imprinted polymers (MIPs), chemiluminescence, and reactivity. - Producing nanocomposites from marine material wastes for sustainable applications.
