Rainbow Rare Earths resource upgrade receives thumbs up from US investment bank @RainbowREarths #LSE #OTC #RBW #RBWRF. 📄Report Published: Strengthening Global Mine Action📄 Landmines continue to threaten communities long after conflicts end, affecting lives and limiting development. The Fifth Review Conference (RevCon) of the Anti-Personnel Mine Ban Convention (APMBC) this November is a crucial moment for tackling these issues. In my personal capacity, I recently had the opportunity to serve as Rapporteur at a retreat hosted by Wilton Park, in partnership with the Foreign, Commonwealth and Development Office and the Royal Government of Cambodia. The event brought together experts to discuss how we can strengthen global mine action over the next five years, with the aim of developing the Siem Reap Angkor Action Plan (SRAAP). I have summarised the discussions and key outcomes in a report, which outlines five key recommendations: 🌍 Incorporate climate and environmental considerations into mine clearance activities, ensuring sustainable practices. 🤝 Strengthen national ownership and local partnerships to empower affected states and communities. 📊 Simplify and streamline reporting processes, making it easier for countries to track and demonstrate progress. 💡 Encourage innovative funding mechanisms to secure more sustainable financial support for mine clearance. ❤️ Place more emphasis on victim assistance, including mental health support for survivors. If you'd like to learn more, the full report has now been published and is available here: https://lnkd.in/eXRAp-uX. Thank you to Wilton Park for the opportunity to contribute to these important discussions. I hope the report helps guide efforts towards a mine-free world.
