CIMB is offering a six-month payment relief on loans and financing to individuals, SMEs, and micro-SMEs affected by the recent floods under its “CIMB Flood Relief Assistance Plan.” Late charges and fees will be waived, and SMEs needing extra cashflow can apply for a Disaster Relief Facility of up to RM700,000 at a preferential rate. Group CEO Novan Amirudin said, “A key advocate in advancing customers and society, CIMB is committed to continue serving the communities we operate in and as such, is ready to provide flood assistance and payment relief. We hope our efforts will help to ease our individual and business customers’ additional financial burden caused by the floods, and subsequently provide much needed funds to help the affected communities to rebuild their lives and livelihoods." CIMB Foundation and CIMB Islamic have pledged RM2.5 million to aid flood victims, partnering with NGOs like Kembara Kitchen. Since 2021, CIMB has sponsored five retort machines, providing over 240,000 ready-to-eat meal packs, with 80,000 distributed during the current floods.
