How do I practice mindfulness? 🧘♂️ Often the first association with practising mindfulness is the traditional meditation practice of sitting cross-legged and being silent for some time. However, mindfulness is much more than that. Mindfulness is a state of being and needs practice throughout the entire day. Next to my daily meditation practice, I also stopped watching something next to my food and created multiple anchors for myself throughout the day. Those anchors are cycling, eating and walking. As I am engaging in each of them on a daily basis, they serve as great points of checking in with myself and simply noticing my body, breath and thoughts. They help me in training the muscle of awareness and thereby in staying mindful throughout the day. What else could be great anchors to practice mindfulness? Let me know in the comments.
