The best career advice I ever received was simple, some may say obvious, but at that time was revolutionary. "You need to ask." Early in my career, I had assumed that if I worked hard I would be "seen" by the C suite and told when I was ready to take the next step. Hearing this advice changed everything for me. No one cares more about your growth or professional journey than you, and if you want a seat at the table you need to ask. Be your own advocate. I realized that if I could find the courage to ask, it was typically met with tremendous support. I would not be working with either Arrivalist or Fired Up! Culture without this advice, as both opportunities resulted from emails where I asked to learn more. So, I will pass along this advice to you in case you need it. Find the courage to ask and you will be surprised how much faster you grow.
