It was when Usha Agarwal saw the struggle of these tiny tots fighting with life in the worst conditions, which made her came up with Shree Shakti Seva Kendra- A place for these children where they could get their childhood backpacked with joy in the form of quality education, good nutritious food and care. Driven by a vision to break the cycle of malnutrition and deprivation, SSSK came up with a mission to provide more than just education. Recognizing that nourishment is a must-have of a child's development, SSSK made it their priority to ensure access to nutritious meals. From hearty 3-course meals to wholesome snacks, every child at SSSK receives what they are meant for. But SSSK's commitment doesn't end there. Understanding the challenges faced by children who travel far for education, they established a hostel, offering not just shelter but also three square meals a day, along with milk and other essentials. These children have transitioned from a life of hunger and hardship to one filled with promise and opportunity. Launch of Human Milk Bank The Department of Health, Sindh Province has started the first human milk bank in a child care hospital where women can donate milk which will be preserved. Keeping in mind scientific principles, hygiene rules and Shariah injunctions for children Those whose mothers are unable to breastfeed will be fed. Due to various reasons, many mothers are unable to breastfeed their children, which leaves a fundamental deficiency in the child's upbringing. Mother's milk produces antibodies which provide protection in case of disease. Human Milk Bank is the first of its kind institute established in Sindh Institute of Child Health and Neonatology with the support of UNICEF. After this, opposition has also come from some scholars, but the Shariah point of view regarding adoption is clear, in which the period of adoption is fixed for two years with other conditions. In today's modern age, there is a need to look at the establishment of this institution from a scientific point of view, in which human milk has been declared indispensable for the early nutrition of children, which provides them with better immunity in the future life and health. Although religious scholars have the right to give their opinion, but in Islamic Republic Pakistan, there is an Islamic Ideological Council which should be established on more modern lines and the authority to issue fatwas.

🌟 Project Spotlight: Providing Clean Water for Eye Hospital Staff 💧 We're proud to share the impact of our collaboration with the Benedictine Eye Hospital (BEH) in Tororo, Uganda. Recognizing the urgent need for a water treatment system, our team sprang into action to support this vital institution. Through the dedication of one of our technical managers, who was born in Tororo, we learned of BEH's critical need for clean water. As a private not-for-profit institution, BEH provides essential eye care and community-based rehabilitation services to persons with disabilities and epilepsy. With a staff of over 30 and the capability to perform over 3,500 eye surgeries annually, BEH plays a crucial role in promoting eye health in the Tororo community and beyond. However, their efforts were hindered by a lack of access to clean water. We were able to provide funds for the purchase of a VIQUA VT1 drinking water system, purifying an impressive 780 liters of water per hour for the hospital's staff. This initiative is a testament to the power of collaboration and the impact that can be achieved when organizations come together for a common cause. Financial stress is one aspect that closely associated with caring for a child with special need, in addition to mental resilience from parents and caregiver. Hence, social support and assistance can become very helpful in providing some form of relief. The Selangor Special Children's Assistance Program (ANIS) has been implemented starting in 2019. The main objectives of ANIS Assistance: ✅ help alleviate the dependents of therapy, recovery, education and life in times of anxiety (additional food/medicine) for OKU children borne by parents/guardians. ✅ help reduce the burden of OKU parents/guardians who need to buy typical equipment/machines for the purpose of OKU children. The following is how ANIS can help provide financial relief: 🔹 Education and Learning (Therapeutic Center / Special Class/ EIP) - RM 1,000.00 🔹 Medicines*, Food* and Additional Needs* - maximum up to RM 1,200.00 🔹 Purchase/Repair of medical equipment/machine/surgery* - maximum up to RM 5,000.00 based on quotation documents * based on doctor's prescription only The application for this assistance under ANIS is subject to terms and conditions on eligibility of applicant. Application can be made only during this window period and the last day to do so will be on 5.00PM 31st MAY 2024 (FRIDAY). After submitting online application parents and guardians will have to send in the physical printed forms along with required documents to ANIS by 5.30PM 14 JUNE 2024 (FRIDAY). Here’s a new plan… THE MIGHTY PLAN...from the Orgamites Mighty Education Programme. This is our plan to change behaviour for better organ donation consent rates! England has some of the lowest organ donation consent rates in Western Europe, and simply changing the law doesn’t change people! 🥹 The "opt-out" system has effectively raised public awareness but has failed to significantly change behaviour. A comprehensive education strategy that starts young, reaches wide, and extends to bridge the gap between awareness and behavioural change is critical. Don't you think it's time for a new plan??? Now if you're new to this and don't think Organ Donation affects you - here's some food for thought 🧠 ...or support 🙏 ! The single highest cost to NHS England is dialysis, which amounts to £600 million per year. Dialysis is the life-saving treatment that filters and cleanses the blood when the kidneys can no longer perform this function. This immense cost strains the healthcare system. Increasing kidney donations could drastically reduce these expenses. For instance, transitioning just 5,000 patients from dialysis to transplants could potentially save the NHS between £310 million and £527.5 million over a five-year government term.
