I love soulful books, and this right here, is one of those books. I run a women only virtual book club - Books For Growth- where we focus majorly on personal development books. Sometimes though, I find myself 'not feeling' the current book read by the club and so I 'cheat' by reading other books. During one of those 'cheating' times, I stumbled on the book 'Welcome Home' by Dr. Najwa Zebian and God...aren't I glad that I did. I could not help but share snippets of the book with the ladies in the book club as I read it. And that is how we ended up reading the book as a club. The book validated so many truths I that I have come to know through painful life experiences and that I have since held dear to my heart. The book gave me a language for these truths. The book is a deeply personal guide to self-discovery, healing, and building an unshakeable sense of belonging within oneself. It draws on the metaphor of a house as a representation of the soul. Two things stand out for me from the book, self-awareness and self- acceptance. The author states that these two form the foundation of your metaphorical house. From this book I learnt to never tire of learning who I am, and at the same time, to always accept with much love, what I learn about myself. She goes on to touch on other key themes such as self-love, self-forgiveness, self-compassion, personal values and the beautiful art of surrender. I can't speak enough about this book, as I said, It is a soulful book, it's like a hug from a loving friend who has been watching you all your life, as you made the mess, the mistakes, the chaos, and is now here with all the wisdom that you need now, and that you will need for the future. This remains to be my favorite quote from the book; "When you finally feel at home within yourself, those who make you feel unsafe will naturally disappear from your life." If you are in need of some soul healing literature, this is the book for you. What book have you read that has stayed with you? Let me know in the comments. #BridgetfromASCENDTraining

Have you ever wondered "Why did I do that?" or "Why can't I just control my behavior?" Others may judge our reactions and think, "What's wrong with that person?" When questioning our emotions, it's easy to place the blame on ourselves; holding ourselves and those around us to an impossible standard. It's time we started asking a different question. This book is going to change the way you see your life. #healing #whathappenedtoyou #traumainformed

Higher Self: "We gave her much guidance and advice, but she did not listen. Instead she followed her mind's impulses, overthinking and doubting, creating suffering and trouble. That's why she is stuck in life." #stick #stuck #create #doubt #followed #listen #gave #life #suffering #mind Did you enjoy this text? Yesterday I finished reading "The Four Agreements" by Don Miguel Ruiz that talks about the self-limiting beliefs that rob us of joy and create needless suffering. The Four Agreements: 1. Be Impeccable With Your Word: Speak with integrity, avoid gossip, and spread positivity and truth. 2. Don't Take Anything Personally: Remember that others' actions and words reflect their reality, not yours. Avoid unnecessary suffering by not taking things personally. 3. Don't Make Assumptions: Asking questions and communicating clearly can prevent misunderstandings and conflicts. 4. Always Do Your Best: Strive for personal growth without expecting perfection, avoiding self-judgment and regret. These agreements offer powerful insights into living a more fulfilling and authentic life. I highly recommend this book to everyone, it really puts everything into perspective. It's on Amazon for $15 at the moment! Buy The Four Agreements: https://amzn.to/3w6oMYx #TheFourAgreements #PersonalGrowth #BookRecommendation

“Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think.” Romans 12:2 People really don’t forget anything. Stored somewhere in your mind, you’ll find the date of your anniversary, the score of the Super Bowl when you were 10, and the day your child lost his first tooth. You may not recall those events, but the memories are there. The good news is, your brain stores everything. The bad news is, your brain stores everything. Your brain can’t distinguish between what’s imaginary and what’s real, truth or lies. You have stored all kinds of garbage in your brain. And often it’s that garbage that you’re basing your decisions upon. When you were a child, adults said things to you that you believed without question because they were adults and authority figures. For example: You’re not very coordinated. You’ll never be good at math. You’ll always struggle with your weight. Nobody really likes you. You’re shy. You don’t really have much to offer. You’ll never be as good as your brother. I’m embarrassed by you. They were lies then, and they’re lies now. But you’ve believed them! You need to change the tape that’s playing in your mind. Instead of playing tapes full of lies, you need to play the truth of God’s Word. You need to hide the truth of God’s Word in your heart. Romans 12:2 says, “Let God transform you into a new person by changing the way you think”. How do you change how you think? You play a tape of truth. How do you do that? Ask God to heal your memories. Tell God, “I need you to heal these memories of rejection, sin, resentment, guilt, and abuse. They hurt. Please heal me.” Fill your mind with God’s Word. The more truth you put in your mind, the more lies you push out. It’s a replacement strategy. Instead of spending all your time watching tv and listening to music, fill your mind with God’s Word. For years psychologists have said that your self-esteem comes from what you think the most important person in your life thinks about you. Make Jesus the most important person in your life, and it’ll change everything. God’s Word says you’re -lovable-"For God so loved the world that he gave his one and only Son, that whoever believes in him shall not perish but have eternal life. John 3:16, -capable-"His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness 2 Peter 1:3,-valuable- "Are not five sparrows sold for two farthings, and not one of them is forgotten before God? Luke 12:6, -forgivable- "as far as the east is from the west, so far has he removed our transgressions from us" Ps 103:12 and -usable- "to equip his people for works of service, so that the body of Christ may be built up" Eph 4:12. Let that tape become the soundtrack of your life, and you will never be the same. Lord Jesus Thank you for dying on the cross for my sin. Please forgive me. Come into my life. I receive You as my Lord and Savior. Lord help me renew my mind with your words. Amen.

Mindsets We are held by only threads. Just thin fragile strands keeping us from destruction and the darkness which holds it. And when the wickedness of this world pulls at those threads, I remember those tiny fragile threads hold more than my existence. They hold everything in my life that has been and will someday be. And if they can hold all of that, then no one should ever think they carry enough weight to break even one of them. C.L. Harmon Check out clharmon.com for more Mindsets and book links!

I recently re-read "The Five People You Meet in Heaven" by Mitch Albom, and one particular quote has really stuck with me: "You have peace when you make it with yourself." This simple yet profound statement reminds me of the importance of self-acceptance and being at peace with who you are. It's so easy to be overly self-critical or dwell on regrets from the past. But true inner peace comes when you can look at yourself - flaws and all - and make peace with the person you are. Albom's novel is a thought-provoking look at how seemingly insignificant moments can profoundly impact the lives of others. While a work of fiction, it contains many insights about finding meaning, purpose, and contentment in one's life journey. That quote about making peace with yourself has really resonated and motivated me to practice more self-compassion. I'm curious to hear if any particular books or quotes have stuck with others and helped provide perspective? #SelfAcceptance #Wisdom #LifeLessons #MotivationalQuotes #InspirationalReading #SelfReflection #PersonalGrowth #SelfImprovement
