For the past nine months, I’ve been actively searching for work—something I’ve never experienced before. Even during the Great Recession, I was able to secure contract work relatively quickly after a layoff. This time, I’ve applied to nearly 800 jobs, spoken with countless companies and recruiters, and gone through over 50 screenings and interviews, many involving multiple rounds, including with C-level executives. I’ve completed personality tests, cognitive assessments, leadership evaluations, and invested hours in creating assignments, building a portfolio, rewriting my resume, and crafting personalized thank-you notes. Yet, despite all of this, I’m still searching.
I’ve had four companies take me through lengthy, two-month interview processes, only to decide not to hire anyone in the end. I’ve been told I don’t have enough experience in industries where I’ve worked for over 12 years, and in the same breath, I’ve been told I’m too experienced (= too old or too expensive?). I’ve received conflicting advice about using the LinkedIn green banner: some say it helps, others claim it makes me appear desperate (!!).
With over 15 years of experience as a "full-stack" marketer, I bring expertise across acquisition, retention, lifecycle marketing, SEM, SEO, social media, CRM, eCommerce, martech, UX/UI, CRO, analytics, and content strategy. I have extensive experience in B2C and B2B industries like hospitality, travel, retail, higher education, marketplaces and green tech, and can thrive as both a leader and individual contributor. I’ve successfully navigated challenges like recessions, government shutdowns, and pandemics.
I hold a Master’s degree, am bilingual, and am a dual citizen authorized to work in both the U.S. and EU. I am skilled in dozens of martech tools and always eager to learn more. I'm ready to contribute and I am #opentowork.
