We often talk about the challenges of balancing parenthood and academia, but what about the support systems that help make it possible? At BD Stemm Strategies, I'm committed to creating spaces where mothers in STEM feel supported and heard. Mothers shouldn’t have to face bias and discrimination alone—by connecting with each other, we can build a stronger, more inclusive academic world. If you’re a mother in STEM or academia, what has your “village” looked like? How has community made a difference in your journey? #MothersInScience #STEMSupport #WomenInSTEM #AcademicCommunity #FindYourVillage

When I first had children, I used to feel like I didn’t have a village. It felt isolating, especially as I tried to navigate the demands of academia. The juggle of being a mother and pursuing a career I was passionate about was—and still is—very real. Mothers in academia face unique challenges, from juggling research deadlines and childcare to dealing with the bias and discrimination that still persist. But over time, I’ve realised something powerful: my village isn’t just the people physically close to me. It’s the community of incredible mothers I’ve connected with, many of whom I’m grateful to now count as friends. They’re the ones who understand the late nights, the compromises, and the small (yet enormous) victories of this journey. Volunteering for Mothers in Science, I’ve had the privilege of connecting with other women who are navigating the same path. It’s not just about promoting awareness and advocating for change (although that’s so important!). It’s also about building a support system—a network of mothers who lift each other up, who understand the struggles, and who cheer on each milestone, big or small. Being a mother in academia isn’t easy, but this community has shown me that I’m not alone. My village might not always be close by, but it’s filled with strong, compassionate, and inspiring women who make all the difference. To all the mothers out there trying to find their way in STEM or academia, I want you to know: you don’t have to do it alone. Find your people, build your village, and remember, we’re all in this together. #MothersInScience #STEMCommunity #AcademicParenting #WomenInSTEM #FindYourVillage

Today, on World Children’s Day, we come together to celebrate the limitless potential of every child. At Hashimukh, we believe that every child, regardless of their circumstances, deserves the opportunity to dream, grow, and thrive. Children are the architects of the future, but too many face barriers that prevent them from accessing the tools they need to succeed. That’s why we dedicate ourselves to changing this reality. Through inclusive education, skill development training, health care, and providing nutritious meals, we work to give underprivileged children and adolescents the support they need to flourish. Our mission is rooted in creating equity, bridging the gender gap, and fostering a world where every child has a voice, a dream, and the resources to achieve it. On this day, let us all recommit to the cause of children’s rights. Together, we can ensure that no child is left behind. Your support, whether big or small helps us continue to provide opportunities for children to break free from the cycle of poverty and step into a future filled with promise. Let’s make a difference, one child at a time. Because every child deserves to shine.

🌍 Celebrating #Children's Day by Amplifying Young Voices! 🌍 On this special day dedicated to children, let’s look back at an inspiring project that embodied the power of children’s voices in policy and community change – the Child Parliament 2014. This project served as a powerful platform for children to voice their opinions, insights, and solutions for the issues that matter most to them. Here are a few key action points from this project that continue to guide us in championing child rights: 🔹 Enable Platforms for Expression: Establish and support spaces where children can openly share their concerns and ideas, ensuring that their perspectives directly influence policies affecting their lives. 🔹 Empower Through Education: Equip children with knowledge about their rights, responsibilities, and the systems around them, fostering confident young advocates who can champion their own and others' rights. 🔹 Inclusive Participation: Involve children from diverse backgrounds and abilities, ensuring representation of all voices, especially those who are often unheard. 🔹 Encourage Leadership: Offer roles that allow children to lead discussions, propose solutions, and even contribute to decision-making processes that impact their communities. 🔹 Build Adult Allies: Strengthen the commitment of adults (parents, teachers, community leaders) to actively listen and support children's voices, respecting their input as valuable and transformative. Children aren’t just future leaders – they are change-makers today. Let’s continue to engage, empower, and elevate their voices every day. 🌟 #ChildrensDay #ChildRights #YouthVoices #SocialChange #Inclusion #Empowerment #ChildProtection #philanthropy #csr #nonprofits #ngos #ingos #community
