AI assistance in the software development process can be, and often is, a marvellous tool to improve productivity. But as Mike Mason said in a webinar today "Beware of engaging AI and disengaging the brain". We developers still need to know what the code is doing, and how it is solving the problem at hand. 6 years ago, I spoke with Johan Steyn about the future of Software Testing and here we are still fighting the noble cause, inconsistent use of terminology, misunderstanding of what Quality is and means, too many tools and features not utilised, how to embed AI, immature software engineering practices and inefficient ways of working. The journey continues as testing continues to evolve.... Johan Steyn #AI #SoftwareTesting #Future
