Revolutionizing Fashion Supply Chains through Circularity Can circularity be the answer to the pressing issue of textile waste in the fashion industry? Reusing and regenerating clothes to reduce environmental impact while creating value is a compelling concept. India, a manufacturing hub for global brands, has the potential to lead circularity. However, adoption faces challenges due to overconsumption, social stigma, and the demand for new trends. To overcome these hurdles, we need increased awareness, investment in circular business models, innovative sustainable technologies, and collaborative efforts from brands, consumers, and policymakers. Let's leverage India's manufacturing prowess to drive circularity in fashion supply chains! Share your thoughts! #Sustainability #Supplychain #CircularFashion #SustainableSupplyChain #FashionManufacturing #IndiaLeads #TextileWasteReduction #SupplyChainInnovation

As a circular fashion activist, I'm excited to share “𝐓𝐡𝐞 𝐕𝐢𝐬𝐢𝐨𝐧 𝐨𝐟 𝐚 𝐂𝐢𝐫𝐜𝐮𝐥𝐚𝐫 𝐄𝐜𝐨𝐧𝐨𝐦𝐲 𝐟𝐨𝐫 𝐅𝐚𝐬𝐡𝐢𝐨𝐧." The fashion industry currently operates in a wasteful, linear system, with high resource use and short clothing lifespans. This has led to significant environmental damage, with 98 million tonnes of nonrenewable resources used annually. By 2050, fashion could consume over 26% of the carbon budget if unchanged. A circular economy offers a solution: 𝐍𝐞𝐰 𝐁𝐮𝐬𝐢𝐧𝐞𝐬𝐬 𝐌𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐥𝐬: Clothing rental, subscriptions, and sharing. 𝐒𝐮𝐬𝐭𝐚𝐢𝐧𝐚𝐛𝐥𝐞 𝐈𝐧𝐩𝐮𝐭𝐬: Renewable resources and fewer harmful chemicals. 𝐑𝐞𝐜𝐲𝐜𝐥𝐢𝐧𝐠: Turning used clothes into new garments. This vision means durable, affordable clothing, true cost pricing, and inclusive growth. Let's shift fashion from disposable to sustainable! Imagine what you could do with 7,000 liters of water. 💦 Take 285 showers - or make just one pair of jeans. Why so much water? Traditional denim production is shockingly wasteful, requiring up to 18 baths to set the color on the fabric. This not only consumes vast amounts of water but also introduces harmful chemicals into the environment, contributing to 20% of the world’s polluted water. The carbon footprint? Equally alarming. At Sonovia Ltd, we’re changing the game. Our patented ultrasonic technology sets the color in just one bath—drastically reducing water consumption and eliminating toxic chemicals. We’re not just creating denim; we’re pioneering a sustainable future for the entire industry. Let’s reshape the future of fashion, one pair of jeans at a time. Want to lead the change in sustainable fashion? Reach out—we’re transforming the way denim is made. ♻ 🌎 💦 #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #GreenTechnology #EcoDenim #FutureOfFashion #TextileInnovation #SustainableFashion #DenimRevolution

Ultra-fast fashion is at the center of a deep reflection in Europe, with the introduction of laws aimed at curbing the unsustainable production model that dominates the sector. The Strategy for Sustainable and Circular Textiles, together with extended producer responsibility, aims to reduce the environmental and social impact, requiring companies to produce more durable and recyclable garments. 📢 Bill Gates recently joined forces with the founders of fashion giants ZARA (Inditex) and H&M to invest €230 million in sustainable textile initiatives. The focus of this collaboration is to reduce the environmental impact of traditional textile production, especially cotton cultivation, which consumes a lot of water and chemicals. Participating textile company Galy has pioneered lab-grown cotton as an environmentally friendly alternative. Galy's innovative cotton production method reduces water use by 99%, land use by 97%, and fertilizer demand by 91%. These indicators highlight the potential of lab-grown cotton to reshape the textile industry by providing sustainable options to meet people's growing demand for environmentally friendly fashion. 🌍 Leading the change This is not only a capital layout, but also an expectation and practice of the integration of fashion and technology. Synthetic biology + textiles will usher in new opportunities for development. #BillGates #Textile #Sustainability #TextileIndustry

Hey everyone! I just came across this incredible story that I had to share with you all—it perfectly shows how innovation can go hand-in-hand with caring for our planet. So, there's this company called EcoLine Clothing, founded by K. Sankar and Senthil Sankar. They're not your typical fashion brand. These guys are transforming 1.5 million PET bottles every day into sustainable clothing like T-shirts, jackets, and blazers. Can you imagine? They're turning trash into high-quality clothes! It takes about 8 bottles to make a T-shirt and 20 for a jacket. It's so inspiring to see a #startup from #TamilNadu making a global impact by blending fashion with environmental consciousness. Every piece they create helps reduce #plastic waste, and their commitment to a circular economy is truly commendable. This just goes to show that small steps can make a big difference when driven by purpose. Whether it's adopting more sustainable habits ourselves or supporting brands like Ecoline Clothing, we can all contribute to a greener future! #Sustainability #EcoFriendly #RecycledFashion #Innovation #GreenBusiness #CircularFashion #ZeroWaste #PlasticFree #FutureOfFashion #ClimateAction

🌍✨ What an inspiring week with changemakers at the Textile Exchange Conference in Pasadena! Elizabeth (Liz) Ricketts' alarming stat still resonates with me deeply: Ghana’s Kantamanto Market receives 15 million garments weekly, with 40% bound for waste. 😨 This cycle of fast fashion isn't slowing down anytime soon! 🏬🔄 With the fast fashion market on the rise 📈, it's crucial to understand the impact of our wardrobe choices on the planet. SHEIN and others often get called out, yet, many new fast fashion brands are emerging on platforms like TikTok and Instagram 📲. I highly recommend checking out this shocking documentary - Brandy Hellville & The Cult of Fast Fashion on HBO 📺. https://lnkd.in/gzyZEGyJ The fashion industry affects the planet in countless ways—carbon emissions, water use, land use, microplastics, biodiversity loss, and more 🌿💧🌍. 🚀 Whether you're a sustainability leader, a manufacturer in emerging markets, a recycler tackling complex waste, an innovator crafting new materials, or a tech expert developing AI solutions, we need you all! 💡🤝 There’s no better time to drive positive change in fashion than NOW! Let’s Go. 💪♻️ Carbon Trail #SustainableFashion #TextileExchange #FastFashion #ClimateAction #FashionIndustry #EcoFriendly #Sustainability #ReduceWaste #CircularEconomy #GreenInnovation #ImpactfulChange #CollaborateForClimate
