According to nearly 500 sustainability experts across 65 countries, new legislation and sustainability disclosure standards are seen as the most critical positive developments in the past year. This trend is particularly pronounced among sustainability professionals in the for-profit sectors. Key insights from the survey include: - One-third of experts cite legislative action as the top sustainability breakthrough. - New sustainability disclosure standards and initiatives around climate, renewables, and low-carbon solutions are also crucial advancements. - Increased public awareness of sustainability is particularly noted by experts in Africa and the Middle East.
